Simple but excellent
I’m starting a forest school co-op (a homeschool group)l. I bought and borrowed as many forest school books as I could. This one is the most helpful I’ve found. It is clear & concise without chapters upon chapters about theory and reasoning, which I found redundant in most other books. (If you are buying this book, you already know why children should be outside.) It also isn’t full of activity ideas. It is simply a step by step, thoughtful guide of the How’s & What’s to getting started. At first I was disappointed by its brevity, but it is certainly thorough despite that. I have referenced it again and again.

An excellent guide for anyone interested in implementing a forest day curriculum!
This book will get you started with ideas from how to choose your outdoor site, ideas for daily rhythms, and preparations to get your students outside all year round. The handbook also includes do’s and don’ts of bringing students outside, additional resources, and case studies. Eliza and Meghan are two experts in the field of nature-based education, and it is amazing that they are sharing some of their knowledge in this handbook!
