This book is invaluable for understanding remedies

I’ve used homeopathy for the past 35 years on a personal basis. Until now I had used the original book by Boericke published in late 1890’s. It has always been a very hard book to use as a reference because if the age and language.This current version by Robin Murphy is complete, up to date and much easier to understand.The description of the individual remedy actions is written concisely and is much easier to grasp for the overall portrait.

I shared a picture of the Materia Medica next to Robin Murphy's other fabulous book Homeopathic Medical Repertory so you can get a size comparison. It's nearly as big. It's 2212 pages and packed with information. There are 1400 remedies covered in this. Each one gives the name, the origin and the provings followed by the various conditions it has shown to help. It's very thorough.I was happy to see at the end a 75 page repertory where you can look up conditions to find possible remedy choices. This book could stand on it's own if needed but i prefer having the full Medical Repertory available since it covers nearly everything you could imagine.It is a must have for the serious homeopath/ student.

So much great information

Arrived in fantastic packaging, albeit quite late. Only complaint is that the hardcover spine detached from the page binding upon first opening. It is a very thick book (4-5 inches) so it's not surprising. Unfortunately, some of the items listed within its pages seem to be almost raving nonsense. I have a difficult time with some claims such as a study conducted with doctors taking "DNA" pills. That just sounds like utter nonsense. Most of the herbal stuff is good, but I have a feeling that after some more research, a number of these pages will be removed. Unless there's some joke in which I'm not included.

First of all, Robin Murphy's materia medica is one of the best there is. This has tons of info and every remedy you can think of. HOWEVER, it's been a few days and the binding is starting to show strain. It's not going to hold up to frequent use and that's exactly what a materia medica is for. The gold labeling on the cover literally wipes off by handling. In a few more weeks this book won't have a title on the cover. Subpar printing company at best.

This is an excellent reference. It is easy to understand if you have the basics of homeopathy.

It’s like it takes its info from all of the others as well as extra information about how the remedy was made. I really appreciate this book, fast delivery and no duty had to be paid on it. I would highly recommend it, it’s my favourite MM
