What's Not To Love?
I had been using the MaxxHaul 50027 to haul around my e-bike. It was cheap, but kind of rickety, and I lost both of the hooks which hold the bike in place. The company remained unresponsive to numerous emails for replacement parts, so I decided to upgrade to the Swagman Current, and man am I glad that I did! The Swagman Current is LIGHT YEARS ahead of the MaxxHaul 50027. Much sturdier, built for e-bikes, with "fold-away" capacity when not in use. I have only been using the Swagman Current for a few days, but so far I love it! Worth the price!

Solid E-bike carrier
Purchased two new e-bikes to carry with our RV. The Swagman fit the bill. Heavy duty and foldable. The Swagman Current is RV (motor home) rated and does well. We use on a 32 ft Class-C RV.

very sturdy
Holds our 2 e-bikes very well. Seems very sturdy, bikes are secure for travel. Lock is a nice added bonus! I would recommend this bike rack.

Great fat tire or full fendered bike rack.
I was looking for a platform type bike rack to haul our fat tire bikes and also my commuter bike that has fenders, so I needed a rack that clamped the top tube. I also wanted a rack that folded up against the car while not in use for ease of parking in the garage, and a rack that tilted down when the bikes are loaded to access the back hatch of my Subaru. I also needed a rack that would fit the 1 1/4" receiver of my car but also fit the 2" receiver of my van, and the Current had all of these features. I have had the rack for a couple of months and so far no problems, it is well constructed, the entire rack is made from steel, with the only plastic bits being the release levers and the ratchets for the top tube hooks. The rack also came with a cable lock and a locking receiver pin and all locks can be operated with one key.The wheel trays are shaped to fit both fat tire and road bikes equally well and the bikes are rock solid when mounted with no rattling or shaking. I tried another rack before this one that secure the bikes by clamping the front tire, but the bikes never seemed secure and tended to wobble while driving. For the price, this rack was the best I had tried, as most platform racks I looked at were twice the money for these features. The only con I have is there is a bit of rattling going over bumps when the rack is empty, but I would recommend this to anyone looking for a platform rack but doesn't want to spring for the high and prices of the top brands.

Bike slipped from the rack - almost a disaster
I only used my Swagman Current bike rack twice (going less than 20 miles) and I almost lost my bike today. I purchased it off Amazon on May 20, 2023.I was going less than 10 MPH, hit a small bump, and my bike was suddenly tilted 90 degrees, horizontal to the road. I only had one bike on the rack. I was able to pull over, but it was really close to an accident and losing my brand new Rad power bike. The two tire holders are now severely bent and have stress fractures, so I can’t use the rack. I checked to ensure the hook was secured tightly to the bike, but the hook lifted out of place when I hit the bump. Also, I have a 1 1/4 inch hitch, I’ve tightened it as tight as I can using the washers, and there’s still wobble on the rack (not at the hitch). This is very concerning given the weight of two e-bikes, the strain on the rack, and the potential to lose the bikes. I contacted customer support - it’s only email - so we’ll see what happens.

Solid, heavy, durable bike rack
This rack is especially made for heavy e-bikes. Mine weighs 65 with the battery, so I transport mine (an S model by the Electric Bike Company of Huntington Beach, CA) without the battery. It is easy to assemble but the thing weighs around 50 pounds so if you are an old fart like me it requires considerable effort. You also have to lay on your back, on the ground like a mechanic, to attach the locking device to secure the rack to your hitch. That being said, it works and the bike is secure. Obviously a well-made device. Recommended.

Seems like a substantial rack
I just got the rack a few days ago, so my experience is limited. It was packed well, easy to assemble with hand tools, and the materials are substantial and the rack is solid. Easily supports my ebike. Folds out of the way simply. And bikes are easy to load as long as you can lift them about 18 inches onto the tire trays. Folded it only extends about 12 inches beyond the car. I use extra locks for security if leaving the bike on the rack away from home. I needed a rack that I could use easily on both 11/4 and 2 inch hitches. Overall, this was the best rack available for my needs. I hope I’m as happy with it after I try to drive the 1000 plus miles to Arizona this winter.

Can not recommend, Disappointment with cheap materials that failed on under 100 miles of use.
Bought this to haul my new Mongoose Fat tire bike around on my jeep.I had less than 100 miles with it on my jeep before one of the cheap plastic straps meant to hold the tires in place broke & my brand new bike popped loose, fell behind my jeep and was dragged until I could pull over. *Rear strap held rear tire in place, locking cable kept bike from falling all the way off.Ruined the rim & tore a 2 1/2 hole in the side of the tire.Additional info:I’m a handy person, know my way around tools. From the time the rack was mounted on my jeep, I drove it less than 100 miles, all on regular paved streets, all local in my general vicinity. Because of COVID19, my travels have been limited to short local drives for the last few months. My point, this rack wasn’t abused, wasn’t bounced around, wasn’t taken off road. It held a single bike for just over a week and a half before the strap broke and it bounced my brand new mongoose fat tire bike off of the road. Severely disappointed all the way around by this.Another note for jeep owners, of you have a rear mounted spare tire, your back gate is 90% obstructed by this rack. Yes it folds down out of the way (which is pretty cool if you drive a Subaru Forrester) but for a trailer hitch mount on a jeep with a 35 inch rear mounted spare, it makes your rear gate functionally inaccessible.

Exactly what I hoped for.
This rack is awesome. I was worried it was going to be wobbly. Turns out it fits supper nicely, comes with 2" receiver if you need that and locks as well. Overall super happy I got it and price was great. Has nice feature, such as folding in different directions if you have limited space like me. Great stuff.
