Can't get the top grate to open. Small spot on the edge of the main top part to pry up on but it is so tight won't come up out. Will try using a hooked tool to lift straight up on it. Self close spring is so tight not sure it it will let water out. UPDATE: There are two little bumps, one on each edge across from each other. If you align one with the little outdent you can lift the grate cover off. I had to use a bright flashlight and very carefully turn the grate till I saw this little nubbin. As it is not in a shower I ground the nubs off so I can lift it off in any position. NO instructions come with it.

The drain didn't work out for us so we returned. It seemed like a very nice item but we needed a trough drain after all for our project!

We bought these for both bathroom remodels. I don’t understand why you can’t get them at Lowe’s, Home Depot or tile stores! They work perfectly for a new drain in a new bathroom. My son is a handyman and has bought several for his jobs as well.

High quality product. Considering ordering more for my rain harvesting intake, this style will definitely keep mosquitoes out

I can not give a review to this product because I ordered it by mistake and had to send it back! I gave it 5 stars because it looks like a very good quality drain. I could not use it as it would not fit in our shower stall.

Good looking drain. Used for floor drain. Set in existing pipe and tiled around it. Worked well.

Arrived just as expected. Drain was easy to install, and I really like the hair removal feature.
