The best prose poetry you'll find!!
I agree with the other reviewer and I so wish more people would find this book, because it's amazing. It speaks to everyone because it speaks to the core of our roots as humanity, yet somehow is modern still and not overwhelming. I've tried a lot of contemporary poets but they tend to fall flat for me, so if you feel the same, this is the one to give a chance to!It speaks so well to the soul during these times. It's amazing. The author is amazing. Did I mention she's native to NC? So support local too y'all!Buy, read, review! You know you have the downtime. Take hold of it- and if you don't agree you can leave a review and slam me. I'm up for it! ;) And nor worried. since the work is moving, special, meaningful, and motivating.

Transformative - So deep and personal
I can't say enough amazing things about this book. "Once we were all singing... somewhere we are still..." (from Dub) It brought home the possibility that our ancestral accountability extends even to the depths of the ocean and beyond the expanse of the night sky. Alexis Pauline Gumbs is a genius. I am grateful to be on the planet at the same time as ALL that is emerging in and from her. "Not all waves are in the ocean still..." (from Dub)I mean come on... So much!
