MBRP S4200409 3" Cat Back, Dual Center Outlet Exhaust System (T409)

This is the 2nd MBRP exhaust that I have purchased. I purchased it for a Ford Focus ST. You can not beat the quality and sound for the price. I put the exhaust on my Focus ST on the ground on Jack stands & found it pretty simple to install. Installation took me about 2 hours. The most difficult part was getting the piece that goes over the axle in & getting it into the hanger but nothing really difficult. Love the look & sound of the exhaust but yet it's not overly loud. I had put one in my previous car which was a Ford Fiesta ST. I was very satisfied with the MBRP exhaust on the Fiesta so when I traded it in for a Focus ST I wanted MBRP again. I'm sure other exhausts are made well also but for the money you can not beat MRBP. I purchased off of Amazon, paid under $500.00 & received it in 2 days !! Great job by MRBP & great job by Amazon.

Great build quality. Pretty straightforward install. Hardest part is getting the pipe over the rear subframe. Word of advice: instructions say to bend back the riveted heat shielding at the top of the subframe. If you remove 1 t30 torx on the rear driver side skirt and 4 10mm heat shield screw caps, you can remove that entire section(see pic) of that heat shielding. It will make maneuvering that pipe 1000x easier.

Installation should take around two hours. Look on youtube under cj pony parts for a good installation video with the manufactuer. Also note that when you rachet all the bolts down make sure that they are on as tight as possible, reason being if they aren't you will get a hell of a lot of vibrations from the unsecureness of it especially where the muffler meets the downpipe as the bolt here acts to make the pipe from the downpipe to the muffler on solid pipe so just make sure to tighten the heck out of your bolts. All in all a great system i look forward to purchasing a downpipe from these guys. Also this i one of the quieter mufflers unlike the borla or flowmasters so the wife is ok with it.

Hangers didn't match up perfectly, I had to bend a few. Exits are not perfectly parallel out the back. Drones like crazy on the highway. Sounds good otherwise. Probably going to remove it as the wife hates it. In the end I got what I payed for I guess.

Good exhaust but they were missing pieces, they refuced to replace it. I had to buy piece to make it work.

2018 Focus ST - Fitment was great, everything lined up as expected. Section that goes over axle takes patience and a few taps on heatsheild to help it slip into place.Had to add shim to one of the tips to get it level with the other.Kit does NOT come with an extra hanger that mounts on section that goes over the axle. Put this hanger on before you connect the other sections so you have wiggle room to get it to slip on.Lisle hanger exhaust plies a huge help but not necessary to remove old exhaust, also may have to cut nuts/studs off flange where it meets downpipe as I did.Loud when you get on it, cruising at 3k it is mellow.

Installation was very easy, just watch an install video from CJ pony parts. By myself with no expieriance I got it done on jack stands in 2 hours and 15 min start to finish. Hardest part was getting the over axle piece in, it definitely goes in you have tk take your time and tweak some of the heat shield to get it to go in, the 2nd worse part was fitting it into the center hanger, that was almost as difficult as the axle piece. The sound is holy crap loud, much much louder than I was expecting, it sounds very good, very low tone and smooth throaty tone. At wide open throttle it sounds incredible. But I have an 88 durometer rear engine mount and I think alot of the sound and vibration is being transmitted thru that, going to switch the bushings to 70 and see if it remains. Overall i love it, its loud in the cabin but I dont care about that really.

Love it! Shipped super fast. Got it a week before the scheduled delivery. As far as sound, I got exactly what I was looking for. A low register exhaust sound. Drone is barely noticeable unless you really step on it. As far as installation, took me and my pops about an hour to install using jack stands which made it difficult to insert the elbow part of the exhaust. I'm super happy with the exhaust and highly recommend it.
