The Living Torah: A new Translation Based On Traditional Jewish Sources (The Five Books of Moses)

Each day when reading from the Torah in my home, this is the version I turn to. Rabbi Kaplan's years of devotion and work have given the Jewish people the finest study tool we could ask for, the work is comprehensive and easily understood. Yes, this edition of the Torah should be in every Jewish home, and used daily for personal enrichment and understanding.

Just started getting into it. It's good so far.

Plain, clear translation, good notes without distracting from the readability. Good for all students of Torah.

I have quite a few Torahs, this is the most deeply Jewish of them all, the commentary and images are amazing!

This was my first Torah and is still the Torah I turn to first when praying or looking up passages. Very understandable with many of the Oral Traditions included on the same page.

A magnificent and authoritative work encompassing the 5 books of Moses. The author explains everything in English and includes numerous diagrams and annotations. A truly excellent way to understand the Torah in a contemporary living way.

Amazing book

This book was recommended to me by my Rabbi and I have been very happy with it. There are many foot notes that help one to understand what is being written.

This is a good modern translation with useful notes. The language is accessible, making it suitable for readers of all ages. I had wanted the version that includes the Hebrew text, so was disappointed that this is only the English translation.

I have given 4 stars because of the usage of The Most High's Name. Hebrew does not usually recognize the name 'God' even though the use of the name is explained in this edition it makes me feel a little uncomfortable. Apart from that GREAT translation. I have never understood scripture more than now. The use of moden language makes things so much clearer and the footnotes, maps and illistrations are brill.
