Size:M24x1.5x12mm M24 x 1.5 Set A conventional oil change is always associated with spills and dirty hands. Therefore, this system has been developed with which you can perform an oil change completely safe and clean. The stahlbus-oil drain valve will easily replace the existing drain screw. When changing the oil, you unscrew the cap and put on the hose connector via quick release. Only when this is locked, the valve opens and the oil can be drained into the provided container. The advantages at a glance: Easy handling due to quick release Drain valve can not be lost No risk of burns from hot oil Seal change is not necessary Sump thread is spared Double outlet protection (protective cap and valve) Connection to suction possible Optimal application for discharge sampling or trapping Protective cover against loss through O-ring Change oil without tools Thus, the oil change makes fun! Delivery: - Valve body, CNC precision turned part made of high quality steel - Copper seal - Hose connector, CNC precision turned part made of high quality steel - High quality hose 40cm long - Protection cover made of aluminum, anodized - Illustrated Manual

Nice idea. Install gently.
I like the concept, and look forward to using it. Be careful when installing it, though! The instructions say to torque to auto manufacturer's specifications, but when I started to do that, the first one snapped off. When getting the item returned, I was told 15 ft*lbs max.

Been using on an Audi & Ford for two years now...
I love this thing!I got one of these for the Allroad simply to avoid the usual drain pan mess. I do outdoor oil changes and have a pretty clean routine, but there's always the dribble of oil at the end that's subject to the ways of the breeze, and transferring the oil from the pan to the milk jug, then the cleanup of the pan (Clorox spray and paper towels so clean I could eat from it!).Not with the Stahlbus. The silicone tube lives in a Ziploc baggie and the leftover oil pan drain plug (just in case) in my spare tire well. Unscrew the protective cap, press the bayonet fitting in with a quarter twist, and out comes a slow but steady flow of warm engine oil straight into the pick-up receptacle. No mess. My engine's top-mounted oil filter makes this all the cleaner because it removes without draining any oil. When the change is complete, the bayonet pops back out, on goes the protective cap, and I loop the silicon tube onto the other end of the bayonet fitting to make a "bracelet" ring and back into the baggie it goes.I like it so much that I bought a second for my Ford.I should mention that installation is no more difficult that a standard oil pan drain plug.I picked up a B01D3F9ZRC "Thorium Racking Cane Auto Siphon Tube Clip Clamp Holder | 1/2" size" to retain the Stahlbus silicone hose to the top of the jug I'm draining into. The clip fits the hose securely with no chance of slippage to make oil changes all the more mess-proof. The clip lives in the Ziploc bag with the hose and bayonet fitting, and oil changes are about as effortless as I could hope for.

Very Nice Valves
I've purchased and installed two Stahlbus drain valves so far, on a 2012 Passat 2.5L and a 2010 Accord 2.4L, and I really like them. I've installed quite a few Fumotos and EZ oil drain valves, and I've had good luck with all of them. The Stahlbus costs more, but not much more if you would be needing to add an extension to a Fumoto or EZ in order get their valves to clear an obstruction, or add a hose n1pple, and there are no "clocking" concerns with the Stahlbus, since it doesn't have any appendage. However, if your drain is oriented vertically, and you're the OCD type and don't want your stay-in-place drain valve to prevent draining as much out of the oil pan as possible, you can measure and cut some length off of the Fumotos and EZs to make them better match the thread length of your oil pan drain hole, you really can't do that cutting with the Stahlbus, check my pics and you'll see the snap ring which retains the spring and ball to be very near the end of the Stahlbus threads, plus you'll be cutting steel instead of brass. I really like them but I wish they were less expensive and I think Stahlbus should include a piece of soft, flexible silicone hose instead of the stiff vinyl tubing. The oil filter and drain plug on my 2010 Accord 2.4L are right in line but you can see in my pics that there are no interference issues.

This is great for people who enjoy doing their own oil changes
This is great for people who enjoy doing their own oil changes. The included copper crush washer is generally inadequate, so I would recommend anyone buying this to pick up a composite crush washer for $5 (Search Dorman 65302).

Fits my 2018 Crosstrek
I installed this (M16x1.5x12mm) on my 2018 Subaru Crosstrek. Some other reviews have written that the crush washer on this is no good and results in a slow leak. I think they were using a different size on a different engine or didn't properly torque their valve: no slow leak here. This valve is smaller, has an internal mechanism, and a lower exposed profile than the Fumoto valve; that makes it easier to install and less susceptible to accidentally opening or being damaged by road debris. For those three reasons, I think this is worth the extra $10 (only $5 if you buy the Fumoto hose to give it identical performance to this part)To me, the best part of this is given how easy the valve's action is, how long my arms are, and the fact that the oil filter is on top of the Crosstrek's engine, I don't have to lift my car to change my oil. How awesome is that?

Easy install. Will slow down oil drain time. No big deal, will give time for extra inspection .

Think twice before buying
I purchased this for my 2019 Ford Raptor knowing how PITA it is to change oil, especially with the position of oil plan plug. Today was my first oil change after installation of this device, since I noticed small oil leak from plug. I removed it to re-install with new gasket. Unfortunately during install, the device snapped off and left the threaded portion locked inside my lower oil pan. It could've ended up with $1K in cost of repair (tow, removal, new pan, etc) Luckily I was able to remove and re-install factory OEM plug. I will never use this device again. Yes, per instruction, I did use torque wrench.

Quality product, mess free oil changes
The product worked extremely well and I am impressed with its overall quality and design. I chose this over the Fumoto due to its switchless design. I installed the M14-1.50 on my 2012 Kia Forte EX. The copper washer was substantial and made for a good fit on the drain pan. No leaks so far. Makes oil changes incredibly easy and mess free. Will update if any issues

Worth every penny.
The stahlbus oil drain plug makes oil changes so much more pleasant to perform. They should come fitted by manufacturers! Well done Stahlbus!!

Muy cómodo. Recomendable.
