I've had like 6 of these lights
I've had like 6 of these lights, both the pro and non-pro versions. They are great at first but not worth it a few months down the road. Had a couple where the lights completely gave out after only a year. The others had their ramp timers malfunction in less than a year and those are like $95 to replace. I would recommend the galaxyhydro saltwater LED over these. 165w, run extremely cool and silent and put out more power than you could ever need. Seriously, you don't want to waste your money on these lights - not even for the lightening or storm effects.

Good Light for Small Reef Aquaria
I’m writing the review of the Orbit Maringe Pro LED light that I wish I had had to determine if it would serve my needs before I make the purchase. I have a 20 gallon Innovative Marine tank (inner dimensions: front 23 inches, depth & height both 11 inches) reef system. In the past, I’ve had an 8 gallon Biocube with fluorescent lights and a 16 g IM tank with a custom made Nano Box Duo. The blue channel of the NB died after just a year.I note that the power supply for the lights is UL Listed for safety, but the light itself is "ETL Certification Pending." What does that mean? And why can't the light get UL "approval" for safety? What does "certification pending" mean? I would be very nervous if the light was connected directly to the 120 volt line rather than 24 volts. That said, the buyer should be aware that the manufacturer is trying to get the second-rate ETL certification rather than UL. Is it that they can't meet full UL requirements? The outer dimension of my tank is just under 24 inches, so I didn’t know which OM light to purchase – the 18” to 24” or the 24” to 36” models. I got the smaller unit, thinking the larger one would not fit. To have happy corals, I need maximum brightness throughout the tank. When I installed the smaller unit, I realized that the larger one would fit and would have more light output for my tank. This is a review of both units. If your tank is less than about 23-3/4” get the smaller one, up to 35” (or so) inches, the larger. With certain issues, these are great lights! At least for my tank depth, they have good light output, the UV LEDs especially make the corals pop. The lights seem pretty sturdy. One big unknown is how long the lights will last. They have sturdy heat sinks that get moderately warm (maybe 45 degrees C) when the lights are 100 %. I wish there was better (any) lifespan data available for these units. I hate having to spend a fortune for a new light that lasts only a year - as I did for the Nano Box.The controller is a bit tricky to program, but seems to work well. The on-line videos help. The ramp is much smoother than it was for the Nano Box. BUT, two big issues for me: 1) A thirty minute limit for the ramp. Why? I much prefer a one hour ramp. 2) Why a four hour limit to the moonlight? I would prefer at least an eight hour limit. The Dynamic Fades do nothing for me, and only startle my fish - and my wife. These lights have a very narrow light pattern. It barely works well for my 11” deep, 11” wide format, giving somewhat less light at the front and back of the tank than I would like. I have to place the lights carefully to hit the bulk of my corals. You also have to be careful with shadows. The provided and on-line information is pretty good, but could be improved to indicate light pattern and PAR strength as well as precise information about the actual length of the light units with and net of the mounting. My controller is v. 1.0. I do hope that upgraded versions will be made available at reasonable costs so that current owners may be kept up to date. That would pull them up to a full five stars!

Works great! Love the different settings and the light it gives off makes my tank look great. I have a 24" tank and the light is just the right width and depth when it gets to the bottom of the tank... I don't think the light would be suitable for a 36" tank even though it would fit across with the extended legs.
