This augers well because the screw portion is angled properly. Once screwed all the way into the sand, it holds an umbrella firmly. Not going anywhere. Other products like this don't drill down well because the screw is angled almost flat. The pressure screw to hold the umbrella in place is good too. Note - this is bigger than expected. I don't recall seeing a picture to give perspective. I trimmed the handles about an inch on each side (easy with power tools and sandpaper) and it is still easy to use and more tolerable space wise.

Works perfectly. No more worries about the umbrella flying away. Sturdy and easy to use.

I think on some level we are all a bit skeptical about promises made by products. Marketing shouts out features and never says a word about drawbacks. So the computer is left to find out on their own if a product doesn't live up to the hype. This one works. The beach we went to had variable winds with some pretty strong gusts. Other umbrellas were flying around...ours wasn't. They screw knob is easy to tighten and large enough to get a good grip. Wonderful product.

It’s bulky but does the job

I'm so happy I bought this. I have a cheap little beach umbrella and I was going to toss it bc on windy days, it's useless. But after seeing prices for a nice new one. I came across this item and thought, let me give it a try 1st. Well, let me just say wow! It's super easy to use. Fits any size umbrella and it's very sturdy. I've been using it for the past few weeks on the beach and it has really held up. What a lifesaver during the hot summer days on miami beach!

These anchors are more tapered than our old ones and dig into the sand with less effort. Definitely an upgrade.
