Great for my learning to cook son, great to pre-make to freeze for quick microwave meal later!
Bought this for my 20+ son who is no whiz in the kitchen cooking, but was alone with Aunt and they tried it out a couple times and said it worked great with smaller bread slices that were soft, but still had substance...like an Italian bread or French loaf and slices must be somewhat thin.Texas toast will work...if you are using just one piece of toast on each side of griddle surface, that we dunked in egg & sprinkled with cinnamon and did not clamp down all the way but rather just held down slightly as we did not need to "seal" in any ingredients.Even tried some Flour Tortilla with precooked left over Mexican Taco beef with cheese. It is kind of a clean out your refrigerator type of fun. But also you could make some quickie meals from left overs and put them in good freezer bags and place in freezer for quick pull out and microwave treat or place with a can of soup for fast supper.I gave it one less star as the plates are not removable but for the price, if one is careful, it is not to bad to clean...and my son will become more confident in cooking. He is already REALLY good at cleaning up the kitchen, as I usually cook.I would recommend this sandwich maker.

Great for making snacks for kids..
I had one of these when my kids were younger and we wore it out...can make mini pizzas out of bread, cheese, sauce and pepperoni,, S'Mores, grilled cheese, warm PB&J, grilled cheese and ham, Reubens...if you can sandwich it between two slices of bread, you have a recipe! Great for fussy eaters. The unit itself is not elaborate and I do not expect it to last forever, but it works fine. Spray well with baking spray with flour before use--makes clean up easier and release easy

works great
works great, and please take note I've seen some of the comments and this is for folks that never used one of these. I've never had any issues because I never overload it with pancake batter and I never use grease. if you're having a sticking food issues, I found this handy, take the metal place off before heating off and spray it lightly with a can of cooking spray very lightly and then place back on. you don't want no cooking oil on the wires which will cause problems of possibly fire.

Old one was much better. I'm not sure where you can get bread ...
I had a different one years ago, got lost in a move. Old one was much better. I'm not sure where you can get bread that actually fits in this thing. They should have made this a single sandwich maker, instead of a double. It's too small for two sandwiches unless you trim the bread. But with adjustments, it will make a sandwich. It's not the cat's meow.

Good product!
It simply does its work. It's doesn't have anything unusual and I'm just really pleased with what I've got. It does good sandwiches and I haven't had any stickiness problems at the moment. I've got this like more than 6 months ago and is still working fine!

Not really worth it
It's a little confusing when and how long to use it because there isn't an "on-button" or anything. It just turns on when you plug it in.

Grilled goodness
Don't make the sandwich too big or you can't close the machine. A tad tighter than others but works great otherwise.

overall good product,
I Wish you could disassemble easily and wash it. you can still easily clean it with a wet paper towel.
