High quality and exactly as advertised

I just got this, so have only used it once (last night for dinner). I added a modest amount since I hadn’t used it before. Found it very tasty, delicious in fact, but not as strongly-flavored as I would have guessed. Will try again next time with a larger amount. This adds a really interesting depth of flavor — very slightly ginger-like — to veggies and meat.

The last time I bought galanga powder (locally) it was oddly mild. But this is what galanga should be!! The aroma it what you'll first notice, and the fresh flavor will make you think you're in Thailand.

I love the taste of Thai galangal. I buy both fresh and dried form but have never purchased (or knowingly consumed) ground galangal so I thought I'd try this product. I did note that the name of this bottle's product is "Galanga Powder" (missing the final "L" at the end) which worried me but after reading a bunch online, realized that was a normal alternate spelling.With high expectations, I started by wetting my finger and took a taste of the ground galanga powder direct from the jar. It was an odd mostly dull taste. So I put a half teaspoon into a hot cup of chicken broth. No smell or taste of the galangal flavor I crave. Then I made my own version of a Tum Yum soup and put a heaping teaspoon of this power into it. Same nothingness. I know the taste of Thai; I buy whole lemongrass etc. Either I got a terribly old bottle of this ground galanga (like 200 years) of I've had a terrible stroke. My wife swears I'm stroke stricken, but for other reasons. I can not recommend in any way this product. Not returnable either. Live and learn. Jay in Seattle.

Great flavor for soups, veggies, eggs

This product is not returnable. They advertise without the warning label that comes on the package. Now that I purchased it, there is no way I would want to consume it with this warning. Buyer beware.
