Q: i have a slanted ceiling are the sides adjustable??

Not really, you could certainly drill them if you are handy but that would only work to a point. they are welded at the top so you could only get a few inches before it became to uneven.

Q: no instructions. how big, and how deep do i drill the anchor holes if I'm putting it into drywall, and into studs?

We did not use the anchor bolts that came with the unit. They were designed to go into the concrete. Go to your hardware store and tell them what your plans are then they can tell you the best thing to use. What ever you choose - keep in mind that this rack is heavy to begin with and when you add glasses and bottles it is extremely heavy.
