5000 Designs and Motifs from India (Dover Pictorial Archive)

I didn't notice exact repeats like some other reviewers. Similar, but not exact. All of the designs are small, so keep that in mind. I just wish there weren't so many useless designs that are broken pottery pieces. Overall, great price for the amount of designs. If you have even a decent scanner, it's much more cost efficient than any CD-Rom design book.

The book is not quite what i was hoping for. It has a lot of very small pictures with design motifs, i was hoping that the pics were a little larger or included some photos. But, they are as advertised - Indian in origin and 5000. Shipping was very quick, well packaged.

The designs range from very primitive and simple to incredible intricate and ornate. While I don't have as much use for the primitive ones, there's enough of the more elaborate ones to keep you interested. Lots of floral designs and animal designs, which is great but it would have been nice to have had a little more variety in the types of designs. Still, all in all, this is a great book for someone looking to incorporate an Indian sensibility in their art, decorative items, etc. This book has given me lots of ideas!

I LOVE this book! Some designs are intricate and some are simple, all are beautiful. They inspire me to put pen to paper.

This is an excellent collection of images that cover a wide range of subject matter. All of the images are approximately 5 cm wide by 3.5 cm high, so you would need access to a good scanner and softwware program to use them at any significant size.

I wish the editor had put only 100 good designs in place of 5000 garbage items. Useless publication. Waste of money.

I wanted the designs in this book, but in Kindle version you can not scale up the images to a useful size. I regret buying this edition.

Theres a lot of patterns in it, but they are very small.Would need a photocopier to make any real use of these but I imagine they are handy for glancing at for Henna ideas.

Mh, esteticamente il prodotto rispetta la raffigurazione, ma non mi ha lasciata molto convinta...le immagini sono tante, ma piccole, poste in piccoli spazi, alcune sono carine altre poco chiare...diciamo che sono più appunto motivi ma più per decorazioni di monumenti, o eventualmente vasi, restauri, mosaici, mi aspettavo altro sinceramente, probabilmente effetuerò il rimborso o lo sostituirò...i tempi di consegna però ottimi, è arrivato in 3 giorni, in anticipo di un giorno
