The battery on my MDX has a slow draw. Something is killing the battery slowly: it's dead after 3-4 days, when not in use. When the smart charger came, directions on the product were short and simple, but really needed more explanation. I hooked the charger to the battery, the same way you would attach jumper cables (I was not sure that was correct because the directions were not very descriptive), then I plugged the charger into the wall. After about 20 minutes, the dead MDX battery fired up! It started over and over with a strong start. I just drove it yesterday again for the first time in two days, and the charge was still strong. I know I am going to have to pay the dealer and arm and a leg to find the reason for the draw. But until then, I am confident I can keep on going so long as I have the smart charger handy.

Works fine on single batteries

I purchased this because of its ability to charge at 24v. This means I can charge my 2 trolling motor batteries together instead of separate. It is pretty slow charging them because it is only 4 amps at 24v for 2 deep cycle batteries wired in series, but I knew this. I have also used it to charge a dead lawn mower battery and maintain a tractor battery. Very happy with this charger so far!

Works pretty good

Nice if your looking for battery charger this 1s it once fully charged it shuts off by its self/ no overcharging or ruining your investment. It's for Agm or standard batteries . You can also check your battery voltage with it prior to powering up or charging by just simply connecting it to your battery.

Overall this charger has been working satisfyingly for a few month now, but I an very skeptical about using this to sustain a battery over the winter in a vehicle that is not in use. Basically this unit controls the battery charging current. This has led to situations where I checked the status and the unit was “trickle charging” with 1,5A at a voltage of more that 15V (I believe 15.7V if I remember correctly). This is clearly way to high for continuous charging just yo sustain the charge. Therefore I think this is unsuitable to leave it connected to the battery continuously for battery maintenance. Too bad, because this is what I bought it for. In one occasion I checked the unit and it had stopped charging, but I have no idea when it stops as there is no description about this and I am not brave enough to wait until the battery voltage exceeds 20V or whatever the shut off threshold is.

And you cannot leave it plugged up because it drains the power out the battery disconnect and there’s not really waterproof it’s not really waterproof
