I bought it a year ago for myself and I really didn't make use of it too much, so after many months I decided to play today and the dog was dancing and after one dance did not work anymore so we checked the batteries to change it but we just found out that it has an unusual battery and just correcting my review, it did came with the cable, so the fun will continue after charging the battery.The dog performs well and has few songs for dancing, is a fun toy.Suggestion: check before you buy if it comes with charger or not.

I ordered this dog for my 5 year old thinking it would be a great replica of a real dog. The dog we received has a broken leg. Contacted Amazon who sent me a link to the manufacture who replaced the dog. We got the replacement the other day and it works perfectly. It still doesn’t follow all the commands like sit, instead it dances to a song. But it does do all the other tricks and commands. For the moment it’s pretty nifty.

I have this a 3 because you have to take off the back panel to charge it. I purchased this for my grandson who already owned a robot. Did not realize the hassle it would be to charge. The robot just plugs into back to charge and he is able to do it himself. He is 2 and half years old and loves electronics. Sad that he does not really like the dog be side of the cord issues.

Purchased for my 9 yr old granddaughter . Her and my 3 yr old grandson loves this dog. It dances, it does yoga it responds to the commands in the book.Now the 3 yr old wants his own dog where the dogs can have a dance battle!This is one of the best “unknown” purchases I have made!!! Now to find a different color one for my grandson.

This is a great toy for a kiddo. A couple of things to note: the battery compartment door is a little tricky and you need to use it often to charge the robot. Top Race has a parts website for replacement parts specific to this toy and I highly recommend using that site to order replacement batteries verses finding on Amazon. Other than that, my son loves this little robot and plays with it often.

The media could not be loaded.  ... quality is not great. I took one star off due to (minor) battery compartment issue.The battery keeps falling out of the TRP5. So I ordered another one (in case it was just a fault) but with this model the battery compartment was a little bit different.There’s one with the black collar which is TRP5 and there is one with a blue colour which is TRP5T (the upgrade I guess) its potluck as to which one you get.The one with the blue collar (TRP5T) seems to do more voice commands (judging by the instructions booklet) but again it’s potluck which one you get.Both have dodgy battery compartments…The battery compartment for on the TRP5 doesn't hold the bulky green battery PLUS the wires, so they all fall out (see video)With the TRP5T, the battery doesn’t go in fully and it’s hard to take out (as it gets wedged in) but at least it doesn’t fall out.I kept the TRP5T (as the battery stays in in that model) and my 4 year old God daughter loves it, apart from the dodgy battery compartments it is very entertaining!

I just tested the toy, haven't given it yet to my nephew.So far, love this little gadget.Its working nice, the noises and movements it does are awsome and cute.I find it real value for money.My nephew is loosing intrest very fast in his toys, so will post an update as soon as we give it. I love it already though.My husband said he will buy me one, haha

Bought this for my five-year-old grandson for his birthday. Once we opened it it looked pretty tacky, screw was missing, did not work, grandson was very disappointed.I bought another one and this one worked perfectly and is lots of fun

it is a good toy, does enough things to keep the kids entertained, the battery had a decent life span but nothing to shout about and having to take it out to charge it is not ideal but not the end of the world
