An education in bird house design.
This is a rather small book; but as is often the case, good things come in small packages. If you want a deeper understanding of bird house construction, then look no further. There are a plethora of books with detailed designs ready for building, but how many of those books tell you why a design is suitable for a particular bird specie, or where to locate the birdhouse to attract a particular bird type? This book does that and more. You will learn about types of construction and the needs of birds relative to the house you wish to build. Once you start reading you may well continue on through the entire book in one sitting, then reread parts to reinforce what you have learned. The author is knowledgeable about birds and their habitats and that knowledge will help you to build the right birdhouse.

Meh
This book is a primer for someone that has little to no woodworking experience. It is very wordy about obvious woodworking information. I was hoping for more design info. If you are a real novice this book might be useful. If you have a ten year old grandson or granddaughter this might get them started on building a birdhouse. Interestingly, I paid $1.49 for a "Used-Good" copy but the book was brand new.

Small, but info-packed
This tiny book (46 5x8" pages) is a little dated, but it's still an excellent source of lots of useful information for anyone interested in building nesting boxes. It has plans for nesting boxes for only 7 bird species, but it also has a very informative 3-page chart of species-specific requirements, including dimensions and placement. It also has a chart of all North American bird species that are cavity nesters. If you're interested in a concise source of information to help you design and build a nesting box for just about any bird that would be likely to use one, you can't go wrong with this.

Complete book of bird houses is very thin book.
This book is ok but it’s a book of few pages.

Short and sweet.
at under $4, this was a bargain with simple birdhouse plans. Not flashy at all and maybe a bit too small, the diagrams are adequate to make some simple birdhouses.

For 3 bucks buy it!
The title is certainly misleading. It is, by no means, a book on constuction. It is a good reference book on the concept and the design of birdhouses but will leave an inexperienced woodworker reaching for more info. However it is worth the $3.50 - at least it will whet your appetite and give you some idea of what you ae getting into. This book give a lot of thought to the welfare of the bird. It will also help make up enough to get the free shipping.

Worth buying
This book has a lot of useful information for you to use in making your own blue prints. If you're looking for blue mprints to use to make a bird house, this is not the right book. The information it supplies is the interior size, hole size and shape, hole height and how high the house should be above ground. It also gives some examples on how to hang the bird house you've made. The plans for the included are very generic and don't give much detail.Overall, this is a handy reference guide, but not very good if you need plans.
