Aibocn 6.5 Feet MHL 11 Pin Micro USB to HDMI Adapter Cable 1080P HDTV for Samsung Galaxy, Note, Galaxy Tab, Galaxy Note

I ordered the ASIN:B00DUCB65I Aibocn 6.5 Feet MHL 11 Pin Micro USB to HDMI Adapter Cable to use with a Samsung Tablet 4 (SM-T230NU)and of course the adapter didn't work. The SM-T230NU is not MHL compatible. That's chapter 1 of this great story (Yeah, this one has a happy ending).I received an email from the seller a day after I received the device asking if it met my needs, how did I like it. I simply replied back "Haven't gotten it to work yet, so far it is a dud". I immediately received a reply asking what model number device (with complete instructions on how to find that information) and if I would prefer a new adapter sent, or a refund.WOW....pretty impressive customer support!!So I emailed back the model number (SM-T230NU, as stated above) and did a little research of my own about what the heck MHL is.MHL stands for Mobile High-Definition Link. You can google it and get all the info you ever wanted to know. LOLI'd never heard of MHL prior to this...so it was my mistake.Shortly thereafter I received another email from the seller stating that my model was not MHL compatible and would I accept a refund without having to return the adapter. WOW....who does business like this these days? Of course I felt bad for them...it was my error, I should have done my research before purchasing it. I received a text just a minute ago that the refund has been completed.Now, I haven't found a device yet to test it on. So my review will be of the construction and instructions. To qualify me as somewhat of an expert on connectors and wiring, I've been a commercial aircraft technician going on 29 years now. Many years on many different aircraft, so I know a lot about wiring. This adapter feels like it is built to last a long time. They didn't use solid-strand wire, no thin and flimsy insulation, and not the cheaply made malleable type connectors you find in after-market phone chargers that are re-po'ed off of bad cables and then sold as new.The packaging is simple, but superb. The box that it comes in is compact, but big enough to allow you to re-use it over and over as a storage without being damaged.The instructions are clear and brief. Only four steps involved.

I was going to rate this a 4 star because even though this should work with the new Note 5 as it has the same style micro port, however this product works flawlessly and works for everything it's listed to work on so it's not their fault so 5 stars for perfect performance and excellent customer service.Ordered this for my Note 5, however when I tried to plug it into the micro port it wouldn't fit. I plugged it into our Samsung S4 and S5 and it fit just fine. I looked at the plug and noticed that in the metal casing close to the sidewall it has two small notches that drop down, and guess that is preventing it from going into the phone. I also had my factory cable for the Note 5 and tried inserting it into the other phones and had no issue, so I guess those notches are preventing the plug from being inserted into the Note 5's port. _______/_--___--_ \-The main intent for this purchase was to work with the Note 5, but I will have to wait to find another option.Review of how well it works, tested on a Samsung S4:Plugged the HDMI plug into the TV port, plugged the USB plug into a wall charger, and the micro plug into the phone's port. Once everything was turned on the cable was recognized immediately and the phone image was mirrored directly to the TV without needing any changes. Mirrorcast did not need to be turned on to use. Images and videos played without issue. The clarity was great with very little issue.If you have any problems with this cable, call the customer support line for Aibocn, and they can help. I had great customer service and was offered a full refund for the cable, even though it worked as stated for all phones they listed. The Note 5 is just to new right now to have a direct answer, and even CS for Aibocn said they assumed it would work too but couldn't be sure because it's so new.I'll order the other Aibocn HML cord they sell just to see if the ends are different and if not I'll hack the ends and replace with a standard micro cable.

I wanted this to stream Netflix and the such to any tv I come across. I have a galaxy S3 Verizon model SCH-l535 and long story short, Netflix explained why it cannot perform with this cable. Netflix loads too much data at once and to send that simultaneously through the hdmi to tv creates problems. Just will not work with the S3 to tv. I tried many possible workarounds and none make it work.However youtube, which loads bits as it goes, works great with no issues as does movies already on phone as they have stated and I have tested.So if you get this to stream Netflix (haven't tried other steaming services however its likely same result) or others, you will be disappointed. I was directed to chromecast.EDIT:tried amazon prime instant video. (very frustrating to get on android)After downloading 3 apps I finally tested amazon prime video and it made the screen flash oddly. Uninstalled all three apps and it doesn't flash now. So Netflix and amazon apps cannot stream from phone to tv using this cord.
