The jar works perfectly. The beans they send you for sprouting seemed to sprout at different rates so there was some waste. I found myself picking out many on sprouted beans. I bought mung beans separately and they are sprouting nicely. It may be worth buying just the jar and your own beans (of a single variety) separately.

Great Value
The jar is big enough to handle the largest batch of sprouts. The lid seems durable and easy to clean. I haven't used the stand. The trial pack of sprouts germinated well and grew into the largest, most carnivorous looking sprouts I've ever seen. We ended up adding them to fried rice and they were delicious. I would be afraid to eat them raw, like they might fight back.
