Oshun: Santeria and the Orisha of Love, Rivers and Sensuality

Very small book, but it’s straight to the point and covers all you need to know.

In the African beliefs of early origin of what is now very much based in the Caribbean and Latin America, you have what is known as "Santeria", "Palo"I really enjoyed this short but informative literature on the aspiring energy of the highly free-spirited and Sensual Goddess, Orisha,even as a potential name for the certain energies she characterizes with absolute uncompromising will, She is not as the reader may first judge of her and her choice to be a free spirit without any fear of repercussion and it is evident that "sins of the flesh" are not so looked upon as being a sinner with a punishment due, that's why I could never much relate to the western civilization of christian & Protestant structure it was never upheld by me as a boy and never will as a man, no offense to anyone, my mother guided me into meditation not religion maybe thats why I have such an individual mind, but as I DO study all religions, occult, etc. I found a highly respected attitude to this culture as well as a belief system I am starting to embrace more and more as time transforms reality and I have a genuine liking to the Orishas, and the Babas that live by the Orishas of Santeria, Orisa, Bantu,etc. and alot of what the majority of people have absolutely been devoured by misinformation towards the Babas that live with the beliefs and all too many know and inaccurately judge what Americans refer to as "VOODOO" and associate the word with "Black Magick" and "evil" That is so untrue and just completely off in accuracy. You really have to start to be able to adapt to a way of seeing reality on a new canvas with colors you never use if you want to paint a picture of a more mature look at spirituality if its a system you do not practice but have the desire to acknowledge what it is they you are looking into. But I digress, "Oshun" is a very well written sum up of the spitfire Orisha. Oshun It also brings up ways to connect to her energy more efficiently and puts one of Many orisha into the power of understanding and closer to to its wisdom if you prefer to dive deeper into the Culture of Snteria. Great read, much respect to Baba Raul Canizares. from "Oshun Yeye Moro" to Oshun Ede" may you be well on your roads of life!

I highly recommend this book. It was simple enough for even my 8yo to understand.

Nice book

I expected more I love Oshun and in this book they have so many definitions that I could not really grasp on to Oshun herself and not the stories of things that are not so important to be put on paper for me to buy.
