Journey into Christmas and Other Stories (Bison Book S) Paperback – October 1, 1985

This is a wonderful book. I had read it years ago, and when the 'leader' of our Book Club asked if I knew of a good, little Christmas book, this is the one I recommended. We ordered 14 - as gifts for all of the ladies in our group. Our meeting last week was one of the best! Everyone was THRILLED with the book! Something in the stories for everyone. Bess Streeter Aldrich is a Nebraska treasure.

Bought this to read "the other side of the tracks" aloud on Christmas Eve before we opened presents. Everyone loved it! Can't wait to read more of the stories.

I enjoyed some of the stories in this book, especially the true stories of the author’s life. This book wasn’t as uplifting as I had expected, as I found some of the stories depressing. The main theme seemed to be that Christmas is about family.

Good stories

Bess Streeter Aldrich has been a favorite of mine for many years. I was first introduced to her writing in A Lantern in Her Hand and I was hooked. I have read everything she has written. And more than once! This collection is a favorite of mine at Christmas time. I got my own copy a few years back and I regularly pull it off the shelf and read some of the stories around the holidays! It makes me smile as I read! I have favorites in this book. Sometime I think I have forgotten a story,, but when read it again I am reminded of the plot all over again. A couple of favorites from this book are; Star Across the Tracks and Youth is all of an Up and Coming! Both have surprises in them. I highly recommend this book and any written by this author!

This is by far my favorite book to read during the Christmas season. It is a special collection of short stories each one special and unique. Each story has touched my heart in it's own way. I found this book many years ago in an old suitcase. It was among many other old books. Every year at Christmas this is the first book I turn to. The messege is the same but each story has a way of telling it that is both refreshing and unusual. Thank you Bess for enriching my life.Dave

This is a well written book with some great stories in it! Grea for the holidays and sure to bring you into the Christmas spirit.
