Vornadobaby Huey Evaporative Humidifier, White,Gray,Green

I needed a humidifier for my office that contains a number of computers and other electronic equipment. The room is only about 200 sf. so I wanted a small humidifier that was quiet, had a good humidistat and used a wick so I didn't have to deal with white dust or a hot water humidifier.Much to my surprise this little gem has been perfect. While the tank is very small the unit seems perfectly capable of maintaining 40-45% RH and on low speed. I only need to fill the tank once and occasional twice a day depending on how cold and windy it is outside. So one fill in the morning and again at the end of the day is working out perfectly. This is exactly what I'd been looking for and what I needed.Two additional notes: After you fill the tank for the first time wait about five minutes then fill the tank again. This will give you a longer run time as the units bottom reservoir needs to fill and the wick needs to soak up some water. After this is done you can refill the tank and get a good run time. The second note had to do with the large washer at the fill port. It likes to pop out and move around. Don't loose it.

I was soooo excited when I saw the side fill because it’s super convenient and easy to fill in the bathroom sink vs others that require using the tub spout because they don’t fit in the sink basin. Downside is that it runs out of water quick. So this is not the humidifier for a dry climate even for a very small kids room. Likely will replace with something else for next winter but it will be good for the spring once it’s not so dry. Also don’t like that there isn’t a way to shut off the light notification that the water jug is empty - thankfully my 5 yo doesn’t wake up because of it but this would not work in a dry climate in a babies room if your trying to keep it dark for sleep - it would light up light an led night light at random hours of the overnight. So 3 is all I can give.

The tank is tiny, so you have to refill it quite frequently - every couple of hours sometimes. It also doesn’t do much. I have it in a small room that is below the required square footage, and I’ve been running it constantly. The humidity has never risen above 25% in that time!

My son had really bad congestion when he was little and would wake up coughing and choking from all of the draining from his nose. When we moved him into his own room, we had the Crane Drop humidifier, but that broke within 4 months of using it. We bought the Vornado Baby and I will never buy another brand again. The "white noise" it creates is great for baby but it isn't too loud. I can hear it over the baby monitor, but my son loves the constant noise. I love the feature where you can set the humidity you would like it at and it stays there. We keep it around 45% - 50% in his room. In the winter, I often had to add more water twice a day because it was running all of the time, but in the summer I can go days without adding anything. I love the container for the water as it is so easy to lift out and fill without having to lift the entire thing. This has been a great investment and I would definitely buy again.

My advice is get a humidifier that does not require a filter. Cleaner, easier and cheaper. I only used this for 3 months than I bought a different one. I like the Pur brand on amazon.

I read wonderful reviews from another retailer, which convinced me to purchase this but it that was a big mistake. It did not add any humidity to my home during the dry winter months of the mid-Atlantic and did not aid in breaking up my children's congestion at all. It pretty much served as a noisy night light and my husband and I had to keep adding water throughout the night. Waste of a lot of money. You'd be better off getting an old school humidifier or running your shower for a while.

This thing is easy to fill and it has a filter so it doesn’t get nasty like most humidifiers. We like to keep it running all night and then have it do the automatic setting during the day where it goes off periodically. It’s become our white noise machine and we’ve had fewer, shorter colds since running them in our bedrooms.

It doesnt hold enough water to last all night (we are in michigan in winter). When it runs out of water a light comes on, this lights up our babys whole room, which does not help with him staying asleep.but other than that its great! Easy to use and lots of settings to customize humidity level
