One of the greatest rock music books you can own
Simply put, if you are in any sort of rock band, play organ/guitar, or simply just simply love the music of Deep Purple, this is a must own. The parts are accurate and transcribed very professionally, the organ parts are accurate, although a few things are missing such as the improvisation in the middle of Smoke on the Water but these are forgivable as everything else appears to be exact and it isn't missing any instrument, as well as contains a good variety of Deep Purple's most popular songs. Its great if you are studying this style of music or plan on covering some Deep Purple material for your band. This is one of the most accurate and well put together music books I ever bought.

Good transcription
The book includes very good transcriptions of Deep Purple's greatest hits.Great for people that are playing in a band and want to cover these songs. Some good songs are missing though. Also missing information about the sound setups of the keyboards and guitars. It would be helpfull if the book could state how the specific organ/ guitar sounds were produced, besides the notes themselves. What equipment/ effects were used.

Great transcriptions
I play bass and piano. This is the best Deep Purple song book I have come across. There is drum notation, guitar notation, refrains and overdubbing. My only disappointment about this publication is it does not have any material from the Mark 3 or 4 lineups. It would have been great to include `Burn' or `Might Just Take Your Life'.

Deep Purple- Transcribed Score
I agree with the other reviewers that this is an excellent, excellent book for Deep Purple fans who have always wanted to play their music. There are a good selection of songs in the book, and I know the publishers couldn't have put in all their hits, but I would have wanted to see a few other songs in there as well or in place of some of the other songs in the book. One song in particular is "Burn". I feel Jon Lord probably had his best solo with that song and it would have been nice to be able to play it. Maybe they could make a part II to this book?As far as the specific set-ups for their sound, one can always look up those things on the internet. I will say this about the keyboard part, though, do yourself a favor and get a good clonewheel organ and don't use the rock organ sound found in most synths. The band uses a Hammond tonewheel organ for that classic sound and using a synth organ just sounds lame imho. Drawbar settings and such were easy enough to find on the internet. So I would think it could be done for Blackmore's guitar set-up as well.Even with the fine job the publisher did transcribing the songs onto paper, you still have to listen closely to the recordings in order to pick up all the little nuances of your favorite song(s). There's no band history, discography, etc., in this book. No fluff; it's just meat and potatoes. Of course, as with any sheet music, it's still one person's interpretation of the music. You'll still have to listen to the original song(s) and "pick out" your part to play effectively. Use this book as a guide to what you already know and you'll get much more enjoyment out of it. Good luck with your playing, and remember to have fun!

Great score
This book is awesome! Every part is written out on some of the bands more famous tunes. The parts are extremely accurate which makes learning them easy and professional. A must for Purple/Blackmore fans.
