The World That Trade Created

Bought new; not printed by publisher; instead, looks like a photocopy edition
I purchased this 4th edition NEW from Amazon as the seller. I expected the book to be printed by Routledge (which often prints in the UK). Instead, a got a book printed on what seems like photo-copy quality paper (think porous, thin so the text on the other side is visible, and fuzzy edged to all the letters). This book was printed in Las Vegas and bound there a few days after my order was placed, then shipped to me.I am highly skeptical that the paper is acid free and will stand up to reading multiple times. I am also dizzy just looking at the pages with the letters not having clean edges. The content of the book is of interest to me, so this review is on the product as shipped. Beware of outsourced printing practices that don't come close to what most publishers produce.Note on print-on-demand publishing: I see the value of this model so resources are not wasted--only books bought are produced and the distance from printing to reader may be less. The carbon footprint of print-on-demand publishing is probably much less; however, the quality of this kind of text makes me hesitant to buy from Amazon again without plans to immediately return any text that is printed sub-par like the Routledge text I received today.

Great!
Loved it but, just a bit too pricey for a book.

The high rating makes me doubt all Amazon reviews!
Reading this book reminded me of sitting in a college classroom listening to a professor, hoping the content of the lecture might utlimately improve. But when content remains shallow, one can't help but wonder if the lecturer is actually the graduate assistant. This is a great book for a fifth grade world history class.
