East to install, works fine
This doesn’t have the most or best feature (no light dimming) but works just fine and easy enough to install. The small package makes it easy to fit inside fan housing. It does have a beeper device that chirps from the control board each time a button is pushed on the remote. It’s meant as an audible feedback to let a user know the controller is receiving commands and the battery isn’t dead or disconnected. I found the beeping incredible annoying so I opened the receiver and physically removed the beeper from the circuit board before installing. It was extremely easy and now the fan functions silently. Totally possible and easy to do if you’re comfortable opening the box.Last note- the RF circuitry is fully digitized on a processor on this remote/receiver. If you lose your old remote (like I did), there’s no way to simply adjust the DIP switches like you could on older models to program a new remote if you lose it, you have to fully replace the receiver in your light/fan but the small form factor makes that easy enough.

Works well
Easy to install & works great. It is compact & easier to fit inside a small spot. Unfortunately there's no light dimming feature, I'll definitely miss that. And the beep sound with eveny button push isn't great, seems unnecessarily loud.

Definitely worth it, unit is small and straightforward install.
For $16 to add remote control functionality to a ceiling fan that never had remote control capability, is definitely worth it. Straightforward to install on my small Hunter fan, which had no remote control capability. I did need someone else to hold the fan, when trying to bolt the fan back together after installing the unit inside. All wire connections are explained in the instructions; on my Hunter fan, the to-the-lights hot wire had a black stripe on it, which went with the blue wire from this device. Remote control works quickly.

Worked great!
This went in easy and worked great. Just make sure the fan is on Hi speed if you are adding it to a fan with a pull switch! If you are buying this to replace pull switches which break over and over again, buy the pull switch as well and install it first. Get the fan working in Hi speed and then add this switch in series with that one (then don't ever use the pull chain again). Replacing a broken pull switch with this would be possible if you had the fans detailed schematic but do not try that if you don't have it (spend $3 and order the correct pull switch to install first). The wiring of fans can be tricky as in many cases, multiple capacitors are used to get the different speed in the original and you need the pull switch to keep that sorted out. In most cases, you can't guess which wires on the pull switch to jumper to get Hi speed - its not one hot wire and one wire for low, one for medium, and one for high.

Easy to install remote kit
The remote sensor was compact and fit into the canopy with no problems. The only part I do not care for is that every time a button is pressed to turn the fan or light on, change speed, turn fan or light off is that it makes a beeping sound every time. It could be a little more subtle but other than that it works great.

FIRE HAZARD!
I bought this remote to use with an outdoor rated ceiling fan my neighbor gave me. I set it up on my workbench with just the motor and the light. The wiring is simple and on the bench the remote worked well on all functions, fan speed and light. I ran it through all of the functions multiple times and was impressed how smoothly it worked. The next day I fully assembled the fan and hung it in the garage with the remote attached in order to do a full blown trial before installing it on our front porch. I did not put the remote receiver under the canopy but left it exposed while I made a trial run. The remote turned the light on and off without a problem. I attempted to turn the fan on at the “low” setting. Nothing. I then tried to turn it on to the “medium” setting. Nothing. Before I could do anything else there was a loud popping/frying sound accompanied by a shower of sparks and flames shooting from the receiving unit and lapping at the ceiling stud where the fan bracket was attached. I quickly killed the power. Although the stud was blackened by soot, it did not catch fire. But frankly I shudder to think how things might have gone had the remote receiver been under the canopy and in proximity to not only a stud but also to the aging insulation, wooden lath, and decades of dust that are part of our front porch ceiling (an 85 year old bungalow, so yes there is dust in the attic).Full disclosure; I am not an electrician but I am the 71 year old son of an electronics technician and very familiar with basic wiring, having done most of my own electrical work for over 50 years.Take a look at the photo I’ve posted of the receiver after the described event and make your own decision. For myself, I would not knowingly use a product with such obvious production quality issues. It is clearly a safety hazard. I have never seen such a dramatic and dangerous failure of a household electrical component in my life. My advice? DON’T BUY THIS REMOTE!
