Damn you Ms. Hargreaves, I cannot knit all the great things in this! Arrrggghhhhhh!
The must knit for me in here is a dead-simple moss st cardigan sweater jacket in a huge (bulky gauge 12 sts/4 in.) yarn with front pockets and just enough shaping. HOwever there are a number of other must-knits crowding into my awareness, e.g. two silhouettes of a fast-knitting Guernsey tunic-length sweater, one loose the other form-fitting, several henley-style 1/2 button sweaters in an angora (and a different yarn), great versatile sweater; a spectacular aran cabled sweater dress, but you could just knit it from the length you wanted in Rowan's gorgeous chainette Lima alpaca yarn, a chunky Nordic style Fair Isle yoke on a longer cardigan (I'll add inset pockets); a lush-looking Grampa cardigan sweater in broken rib; a sexy deep v-neck sweater in angora haze, a new yarn; a simple elegant sweater/cardigan in garter stitch with interesting openwork garter stitch edging, a wide ribbed short shoulder wrap, like a big cosy tube to hug you; hats and scarves as well as a color work plaid sweater. There are redundant patterns, same thing with slight variations rather than completely different projects but still...There are 'young' designs I could see in Williamsburg, NY, as well as being designs that would flatter an older woman with some simple alterations in yarn choice/silhouette. It's expensive for the number of projects but I would say there are more desirable, versatile and doable garments in this than others that have filler of numerous shrugs and oddities to give the impression of a lot of options.Knit rowan dot com provides photos of all the included projects in their K Hargreaves books like this one. For me, not a big color work knitter, this was full of relatively fast, fun and appealing wearable garments.

Great designs for lockdown projects.
Some great designs in this book. I have a lot of Kim Hargreaves knitting pattern books and the ones that I have knitted so far have all turned out really well. Haven't started this book yet but have big plans to soon. Still working on items from her book ‘North’.

Use different yarns!
Patterns are lovely. I have not used Rowan yarn on any of the projects as it is so expensive. Knitted Bryn in style craft alpaca and I am going to knit Tyne in Sirdar DK yarn. Check the needle sizes in the patterns, 3.5 to 4mm need any DK yarn and 5mm Aran, 5.5-6mm chunky. If you are worried about the number of ball, calculate the overall length of the Rowan wool needed on Deramores website and divide by the length on the ball of wool you are subbing in to give the number of balls you will need to buy. Sorry if I'm teaching my grandmother to suck eggs!! Btw Big wool is super chunky.

Expensive when I only want1pattern
Pattern is fine but it is very annoying to have to buy the whole book when only one pattern is required.Puts me off selecting Rowan yarns even though I like them.
