Highly recommend!!! This is amazing. So comfy and cute!
Omg I love this helmet! It’s my first time ever buying a helmet for horseback riding, but I’m starting lessons soon and I was told I’d need one. They told me I could wear a bike helmet but I prefer to “look the part”. I had no idea what I was looking for or what brand is considered to be a good brand in the equestrian world, but I’m so happy I went with this one! It’s WICKED comfortable! I love the minimalistic look it has with the matte black and the other black parts. The quality is great. At first I was a little hesitant to buy this because it seemed kind of expensive, but now I get it. It’s definitely worth the money! I included a ton of pictures because I always look at the pictures in reviews and I never see everything I hope to find when I’m looking. One thing to note that was a pleasant surprise for me is that it came with a cute little carrying bag for the helmet. So I can just throw my helmet in there and head off to my lessons. I’m excited now! Highly recommend this helmet.

Best helmet ever!
I love this helmet. I initially wanted a more classic looking schooling helmet, but after trying many on I discovered I had a round shaped head... most of the helmets I tried on were more for oval shaped heads which left room in the front and back. I reluctantly ordered this one, which is recommended for rounder heads. Right out of the box I fell in love with it. I got the cocoa colour and it almost looks black. The casing is so pretty and it's so sharp looking. I love the little Tipperary emblem patch at the front of the helmet. I work in the medical field and am so happy that this helmet comes down in the back, wrapping around the back of the skull. It's the only helmet I've come across that does this. I feel safe and secure in it. My head in 22 inches around and I ordered a medium. It's too snug with all the padding but if I take out the removable back pad and insert a mini pad in the front... absolutely perfect fit. It's so comfortable you forget it's there. Comes with customizable padding inserts, but I would say around 22 inches is the max circumference a medium would fit. Comes with a dust cover that you can sling over your shoulder.

Very comfortable lightweight helmet
For years I wore other brands of riding helmet that never felt quite right. I would pad them out with the foam that comes with the helmet but I was always aware of the fit, or lack thereof. The first time I tried this Tipperary Sportage it just felt right and like it was more of my head shape. I did try it in store for the first purchase which helped as the size chart would have me buying a M or L when the small is my perfect fit. So, if you can, try a few helmets in person. This is my second Amazon purchase of the helmet.I had to replace the old one as the safety straps were fraying and I checked the manufacture date inside the helmet and it was built in 2011. As the foam degrades over time it is recommended the helmet be replaced every 5 years. The helmet I bought in August 2019 had a manufacture date of 1/2018 which I felt was a little dated. I contacted the seller who responded well and was surprised they had a helmet with that date. They did help me resolve that issue so I happily recommend Western Outlets.I have added a photo of the blue helmet. When I first opened it I thought I had received the gray by mistake. In the sale photo it is a vivid & lustrous blue. My first photo is the helmet in natural light, the second is with a high beam flashlight - even that didn’t manage to recreate the color in the advert. I like the color - it's just different to the advert. The helmet is a nice light weight and the vent holes are great for temperature control. The chin strap is comfortable and after clicking it together and adjusting it correctly I don't even notice it.My favorite and most comfortable helmet. I think I'll be buying this as long as long as Tipperary makes it and I'm riding horses.

Nice helmet, but already 3 years old!
This helmet arrived in a timely manner and is as described. However, the manufacturer year is 2014, which means that it is already 3 years old. I don’t understand why I was shipped a helmet that was made 3 years ago. I believe that these helmets are only recommended to safety use for 5 years from the year they are manufactured. That’s a huge disappointment given the price that I paid for it knowing that I will probably have to replace it again in just 2 more years.

Great helmet!!
For many years I wore a Tipperary Sportage in endurance. Then I had a chance to try a couple other brands. When they wore out (not from falling, just brushing tree limbs and such) and I needed a new one, I tried this updated Tipperary design. I was not disappointed! It is well cushioned yet snug. And it doesn't come down so close to my eyes that I have to tilt my head up to see ahead. It *is* a wee bit tight, perhaps, as I get a mild, transient headache after riding, but I love the fact that it isn't loose and sloppy like some other helmets I've worn. It's the best helmet for the price, in my experience.

Comfortable, good airflow, cradles skull securely
Sooo much more comfortable than the Ovation helmet I was using before! The Ovation's dial tightening system always felt like it was digging into the back of my skull, and I felt like if I was in a bad fall it could actually do some damage because of where it sat at the base of my skull.I bought the Tipperary based on recommendations at the Chronicle of the Horse forums, and I'm glad I did. It's much more comfortable and it feels like it properly cradles and protects my skull instead of creating pressure points. I like that it covers the occipital bone, and so far it feels like it has good airflow and stays cool (we've only gotten up to the low 90s here in upstate NY though; we'll see what I think after moving to TX this summer lol). All in all, well worth the money in my opinion.
