Good instructions - Easy to Install
I purchased the 80,000 Grain combo system in blue. The poly glass vessel media tank arrived in a light tan color, however, a blue plastic outer jacket and black plastic cap were included with the system. The media tank shipped separately from the brine tank and was partially loaded with resin. The brine tank was packed with a large bag of resin as well as the Fleck control head and the brine well assembly. The cardboard packaging for both the softener well as the bine tank was in fair condition when I received both shipments and could stand being a little heavier. Surprisingly, the only noticeable shipping damage to my system was with the brine well that sits inside of the brine tank (See photo) - it is made of pretty thin plastic and was badly cracked at the bolted connection for the float assembly. Instead of pursuing seeking a replacement, I made a couple of heavy plastic washers and used them to reinforce this weak point when I assembled my system. The installation and programming instructions that came from AFWFIlters were great and easy to understand. They did a good job preparing them. I also watched an online video that they had posted on a popular video sharing site that starts with "Y". You need to read the instructions, especially when it comes to programming the control head. It's not rocket science, but it is important to know what the flow rate is for your brine line in order to program correctly. The Fleck control head was labeled to show the flow rates it had been set up for (rates were also indicated on the control head box label). Installation of the system was fairly straightforward. I did away with an old and clunky stand-alone iron filter and micronizer setup that had been gradually choking off my water flow for years. My old softener was a lot smaller in capacity compared to my new system. I've been running the new softener system for a few days now and so far the water quality is great. Flow rate in the shower is noticeably better now too. Currently, I'm very pleased with the system I purchased from AFWFilters.

Thought this was the one.
Came as described, easy to install and excellent soft water. Did love it. However after 1 1/2 years the control head just shut off. Called tech support they said do a hard reset. I did and that worked. However it had been off for some time unknown to me and it plugged so tight no water came to faucets. I asked them about the warranty of 5 years and they said it doesn't cover results of the problem just the material. I cleaned the head completely and did several back flushes but it still plugged up again. AFW who sold it said it probably fouled the resin and now I am stuck having to replace it. Not real happy with this system anymore. In comparison I had a used Culligan MK89 last over 18 years and replaced it with this. It was still working when I took it out but I thought it must have lived it's life and would die soon. Should have stuck with Culligan. Do not buy this product. In my opinion they are a scam and frauds.

Great value system, easy to setup and use.
This is my first softwater system install. The instructions takes some patience to understand. I read over each step a few times before proceeding with it. The overall installation went well. I would equate it to the level of a dishwasher installation. Assembly of the system took about 30mins. The plumbing work to connect to it took the most times and I spent 3hrs on it start to finish.

Good value, good service, good water, slight quality issues
I installed the softener yesterday and so far, so good. The install was easy, the fleck controller is simple to program, and my water has never felt better. I initially received the wrong color of salt tank, but AFWfilters made it right decently quickly (not as quickly as the unit was originally shipped, but whatever). Overall this is a good value and you shouldn't hesitate to purchase. That being said, I do have a couple of minor concerns. First, as seen in the picture, there is a slight manufacturing defect in the wrap they used on the resin tank. I don't know if this will affect performance, if I should throw some 2 part epoxy in there, or what. After looking closer, I realized there is actually a lot of stuff (hairs, flecks, etc) trapped under the wrap. Second, the tank sweats a lot. It's definitely not a leak, just the tank sweating which didn't happen on my ancient Kenmore. This says to me that the resin tank is incredibly thin. Will that matter for general operation? Should I put a blanket on it to insulate against my tropical 60 degree weather up here in Alaska in the summer? Perhaps not, it is just an annoyance. Third, the capacity and brine fill setting recommend on the website seem a bit cheeky to me. I bought an 80k grain softener, but I have to tell the controller it is a 56k grain system and designate a smaller brine fill time than I would expect. It seems like the head unit would understand how to handle different capacity systems best, but instead I have to lie to it? Perhaps that is standard practice in the industry (I'm just a DIYer), but to me something a bit funny with that. Fourth, I connected the 1" manifold connections with 1" corrugated flex pipe and because of the design of the system there is a lot of plastic hanging off the back of the resin tank that seems to be leveraged downwards a bit. I expect this to eventually cause air infiltration in the system because of lopsided pressure on seals. If things change significantly, I will update his review.

Cheaply built
What I look for most is the quality of the valves. These are cheaply built and you are trusting your well house, garage or wherever it is located to 6 O-rings. Fusion Next uses 2. I will stick to the better product from now own. I'm ready to purchase another one for a different project.

Not completely happy.
I like it much better than my old spray tank that had the shut off float sticking occasionally and small insects were getting into. But I still get the sulfur smell periodically.

Excellent customer service team
The system works as expected so far (I only used it for 4 months). Water is soft and there are no calcium deposits or iron anymore.Although there were a few issues with the courier company they hired to deliver the system (they damaged some of the components), the Aplus Water customer services team (Heather, Kali and Teddi) were fantastic in following up and resolving all the issues. Also their technical department answered all of the questions I had for them regarding the system (thanks, Tony).
