PLAYBULB Candle Bluetooth Smart Flameless LED Candle for iPhone and Android

It's an interesting concept, works as advertised. In addition to the features listed on this page, it came with 3 scent discs, which I haven't seen any reference to, have no idea how they work, if they wear out, or if you can buy replacements or other scents.The reason for my 3 star rating is because the app, PLAYBULB X, is spyware. The app requires access to: Photos/Media/Files, Camera, Microphone, Bluetooth connection information, and Device ID & call information. Of that list, the only one it actually SHOULD have is the Bluetooth info. There is absolutely no reason for an app that controls a flameless candle's settings to have access to your phone's information, camera, microphone, or photos/media/files. BEWARE that by using this app, you are essentially giving the authors of the app (plus anyone they decide to share/sell that information to) full access to all of this information on your phone. I know a lot of people don't care or pay attention to the permissions they give to apps, but it really is a good idea to know who has access to what on your phone, and why they need that access. As a result of the excessive permissions required by the app, I downloaded it on an old tablet, which I don't have any personal information on and don't otherwise use regularly, although this is obviously not as convenient as having it on my phone which I have with my all the time. If it was a safe app that I was comfortable putting on my phone, it would be a 5 star product.

My wife complains that she doesn't like having to trek down the stairs to get my attention and since I wear headphones at my computer yelling doesn't work. We bought this so she could signal me from her phone.It works pretty well...the android app is a little hard to use in the sense that the labels on the various functions aren't clear. We just want an ON/OFF button...I don't know why it can't just have that. Instead it has a slider. But whatever, no big deal.Pairing it with bluetooth was easy. That part was good.The only drawback is that it seems to be disconnected from my wife's phone frequently, and since she's not a nerd like me she doesn't always know how to get it paired again. I have no idea why it keeps dropping the pairing....I made sure my phone wasn't pairing with it and she is able to stay paired to her bluetooth earpiece just fine. So sometimes she resorts to texting me to get my attention, which doesn't always work.If it stayed paired better then this would get five stars. As it stands I wouldn't necessarily purchase it again but I also don't know if it is the product itself or our phones. For the 80% of the time it works it works great, though, so it gets a solid 4 stars.

I bought this as a night light, but it doesn't really shine as brightly as I had hoped. It does have the Bluetooth and app control feature, which is finally in English (it was previously all in Chinese!), but it definitely is more "decorative" than it is useful for a nightstand. I had hoped for more largely b/c the price point was so attractive compared to other options, but now I see why.This is one of those products that is fun, but definitely is what one would expect from such a bargain price point. I would not recommend it unless you wish to use it as mood lighting or ambient lighting...or perhaps buy a few for a party setting, since you are able to change it into a range of different colors. However, it is not something I would recommend as a night stand lighting option, based on my use.The on/off switch is also oddly placed INSIDE the device, making it a tad difficult to even turn on if you have larger fingers (FYI!) The incense pads that supposedly provide you an aromatic option fell abysmally flat, with no real scent in the room. Apparently, the heat from the device is supposed to warm the provided aromatic pads ---which also are a challenge to insert due to the small size of the unit--- but there was no appreciable difference in the smell from the light, once activated for a 2 hours or more. All in all, an inexpensive trinket, but definitely not a lighting solution for all.

I love the playbulbs. I have 6 of them, and i use them all the time . They're clever design allows you put a tea candle on the top if you flip it. They're not much brighter than a candle. They're simple to use. I love that i can blow them out like a candle. The bluetooth programming is useful the first time to set the color or scene, but it's too flakey to rely on all the time. I take these candles to go camping, i put them around the bathtub, or use them around the apartment to make everything seem more chill. I wish they had a built in charger and a reliable way to control with with an external controller. But for the price these are amazing and will last you forever. Buy at least 6 AA rechargeable batteries and a big charger. I use these lights daily and need to change batteries about once a week.

These were the perfect solution for a cabinet that has no other potential lighting source due to no power. The one thing I have had a little trouble with is that if the battery door is off just slightly the device will not light. This happened with two of the three I have. I use rechargeable batteries in them and on half brightness the batteries last a week.

Great product! Love the possibilities with this lamp. The app works great, lot of different modes, you can pick every imaginable color, and it's the coolest when you have three or more of these.The only downside is the 3 AA batteries it requires.

La forma de uso es interesante, pero en resumen:el envase de la "vela" es muy pequeño y alumbra muy poco. El envío tardó mucho más de lo programado pero llego bien el producto.

I bought this in 2015, it’s 2019 and still kicking. So my opinion is it’s a good little light! I originally bought it for my husband because he likes these kinds of things, that link to his phone and change colour. But it’s my daughters now and she loves it. She turns it on and uses it as a little night light to go to the bathroom at night. Just wish it didn’t run on batteries.

I think its great. Got it for 10$. Works well. Standby time on battery is amazing so far. Works well and connects fast to the Playbulb X app. The blow function is kinda cool. I thought it would be gimmicky at first but it actually works well. Only thing is the location of the on/off button, which should have below the candle and not inside, where its hard to reach. I also have a playbulb from Mipow and compared to other brands I own, they are the best.

The app is incompatible with a Samsung S3, do not be tricked by it saying it can be downloaded on Google play. Doesn't mean it will work on an android. So now I'm stuck with a multicolored changing night light that will never be one color. All the scents smell terrible and the instructions were purely in french. I may be Canadian but I have no idea how to read french.
