Brown Bear & Friends: All Four Brown Bear Books; Includes Bonus Spanish Language Versions

This book is bilingual and I love the four books

Research has shown that reading to infants, regardless of how small, can help with brain development. On a typical day, the only time I have to read to my 5 month old son is right before bedtime. Therefore, to get more reading in, I purchased these CDs and we listen to them anytime we're in the car - to/from daycare, riding around town, on the way to visit Grandma & Grandpa! He enjoys it and I feel like he's learning more than when we just listen to the radio! I look forward to purchasing more children's books on CD.

This is a great memory tool. My daughter and I read the Brown Bear book so much that she's memorized all of it. We can always play this in the car and she can repeat the narration and imagine the illustrations. If you have every book at home that's a plus, but not necessary. I've not tried it yet, but maybe, instead of a lullaby CD, it can be used as a way to put your child to sleep.

My 2 year old loves listening to this CD! She is a big Eric Carle/ Bill Martin Jr fan, carrying the books around with her constantly! This CD is a pleasure to listen to, and it is great for when I am occupied and cannot read to her.

This is a huge disappointment. Our daughter loves this book and can have it read to her over and over. However, this CD does not do that. If you have ever read these books, you would know that there is a timing that is almost song like. In fact, you can sing a song related to these books. None of the readings on this CD do that. I wonder if the people who have given this a five star review actually remember that this book is supposed to be for children...and as such so should this CD be made with children in mind. Clearly, this was made for adults and not children.

I play this daily for my grandson and it's the one thing that'll quiet him down. G. Paltrow does a great job as narrator.

I was disappointed it wasn't the traditional song version that I was expecting, she's just reading the book.

I am very disappointed in this cd because i think the reader and director missed the point of these wonderful books by bill martin jr. My own children, my students, and i have always loved the rhythm and pattern in the texts. On the cd, the books are read like prose, without the joyful musical quality that makes them so fun, inviting the listener to join in. I gave the rating of 2 instead of 1 because Paltrow's voice is warm and loving.

これは期待以上のCDでした！買う前はきっとこのBear シリーズがリズミカルに読まれているだけかと思っていましたが、そうではありませんでした。ステキなバックミュージックが流れ、Gwyneth Paltrowが声を変え気持ちを込めてBill Martin Jr の詩を朗読します。１冊目のBrown Bear は可愛い感じの曲、２冊目のPolar Bear はソフトジャズ風、３冊目のPanda Bear は更に楽しく盛り上がり、動物によって曲の雰囲気が変えてあります。そして最後のBaby Bear、これはMama Bear の愛溢れる優し〜い気持ちを表すような、とても心地よいメロディーで心が癒されます。息子はこれを聴いてMama Bear の愛に触れ涙を流しました。このCDが発売された時はまだBaby Bear もハードカバーが出たばかりでボードブックもペーパーバックも発売されていませんでした。ボードブックのセットに入っていないの仕方がありません、私は迷わずハードカバーを買いました。スペイン語も面白く読まれていて、子供たちは大笑い！そしてこれらの詩を書いたBill Martin Jr 本人がBrown Bear を朗読しているのも収録されていて、これはかなり貴重です！最後に収録されているエリック・カールのインタビューはとてもラッキーです、これによっていかに著者のBill Martin Jr とイラストのエリック・カールが出会い、これがきっかけでエリック・カールが絵本を作り始めたことがよく分かりました。子供にとってもリスニングの練習になり、とてもお得感がありあした。この内容でこのお値段はかなりお安いと思います。本当に磨り減るほど聴いたお気に入りのCDの１つです！

絵本と一緒に孫に送りました。とても喜んでもらえました。

11ヶ月の息子によくこのCDを聞かせています。ボードブックも購入しました。ボードブックは破けないのはいいですが何冊もあると重いのが気になります。このCDは、ハリウッド女優の雰囲気のある朗読と、登場する動物に合わせたセンスのよいBGMがページごとに流れてきて絵本の世界を盛り上げています。Panda Bearの本のSpider Monkeyのところではモンキー調（?）のリズミカルなBGMが流れてきて、ほんの短い時間ですが、そのシーンの始まるちょっと前から決まって息子がノリノリに踊り出します。もしかして英語をちゃんと聞き取っているのかしら‥と嬉しくなってしまいます。くり返しくり返しの英語のリズムがとても心地よく、私はカフェのBGMのような気分で聴いています。
