Works Great For Setups
I wanted to get a ruler that would allow me to check my fretboards set ups without the frets in the way. Looking at the price of them on StewMac I decided to see what Amazon had to offer. Some reviews said this ruler isn't flat or bends easily and that is not the case for the one I received. It arrived in a padded envelope and was packed well. I used our quartz countertop to check the accuracy and was pleased that every thing was perfectly flat on both sides of the ruler. I have a couple of Les Pauls, Telecasters and Strats along with a PRS and this ruler works on all of them. It has made adjusting my necks much easier to do and the accuracy allows me to get my string action where I like it without the fret buzz that could crop up when I was just using a standard straightedge without the notches. I have not used the Fret Rocker much, but when I checked it, like the ruler, it is also flat and straight. Both feel sturdy and would take a lot of force to bend. I'm glad that I purchased this set as it is a nice addition to my ever growing tool box.

Good tools
These tools seem to be made well. You need to out the straight edge after the second fret to match up with the frets. Did a fret level on a squirt and it turned out great. Can't beat for the price if your not using them all the time.

I thought I would try this set out. They worked perfectly!
I used these tools on my two neck leveling jobs. You can't go wrong for the price.

Does not line up with frets.
Price was too good to be true. The notches do not line up properly. Horrible cuts and QC job. The fret rocket was okay. I will take the loss and keep the rocker and dump the notched straight edge. Not worth the energy to return it.

Nice & thick, not fancy.
This notched straight edge & fret rocker are a great value. Nice & thick metal, with an OK finish. No, they are not polished, but for that you either invest more money, or your own time & effort. Quite easy for a novice to learn how to use. There are tutorials all over YouTube. Agreed that the fret rocker is not a string gauge, though it could be with a bit of effort or imagination since we know it to be .08" thick. Even better if the manufacturer put a little bit more effort in & scribed them, but that would up the price of course. Besides, most of use get string action rulers as a separate item, usually when we buy radius gauges. Might have been four stars for the finish, but I am adding in the fifth one to offset the one-star review, and because of the low price. These should last a lifetime with any care at all.

Disappointing
I’m not sure why this is getting any positive reviews! The straight edge is unusable with its sharp corners and edges. If you don’t cut your fingers, you could mark up your guitar! Nothing is printed on either “tool”. They both are unfinished, cheap, sheet metal junk; although the fret rocker can be used in a pinch. If you can, spring for the Music Nomad tools. You get what you pay for and they deliver more usefulness and value. Two stars for the fret rocker alone.

It can work (with some improvements)
As an occasional tool for a player wanting to learn how to work on his guitar, this kit will work as long as care is taken to sand down the sharp edges without altering the straight-ish edges of both the ruler and the rocker. Dangerous for both the guitar and your hands to use it as is.
