Very nice
I have to start off by saying the metal head was a little loose when it arrived. However, a couple good hits on the provided expansion wedge with a sledge hammer set it perfectly tight. It's weird that the expansion wedge sits so high out of the head but, hey, it works and I haven't found it to get in my way.The blade comes nice and "sharp" for digging. I appreciated that the blade was mounted much closer to a 90 degree angle to the handle, unlike most other hand hoes. Others are mounted closer to a 70 degree angle which really limits the reach of your swing as well as accessibility to tighter spots. The tongs are really nice, too. They are all cut from one flat piece of 1/8"+/- steel instead of using a bent rod like most others. Each tong is much wider than other claws and much more rigid. I don't expect these to be bending out of place for a long time. Also, the tongs are pretty much parallel to each other instead of sticking out lick a broken pinky finger. Very nice. The handle feels solid. In fact, the whole tool has a really good feel and weight to it. It's great for digging sprinkler pipe trenches in Las Vegas dirt. Those who have lived here will appreciate the struggles that come along with trying to navigate rocks, clay, and caliche. I was able to trench around 10', 5-6" down in around 20 minutes. I feel pretty good about that with our "soil".This is the best combo cultivator tool I've ever had.

Great tool. I’d buy it again!
This Hand Cultivator/Hoe is well crafted. Sturdy wood handle is good length (not too short) and a good diameter for my medium sized, *not petite*, woman’s hands. In other words it wasn’t made for jolly green giant hands like a lot of tools are, thank you! yay!!It’s a little more $ than some other “name” brands but a wood handle is important to me—metal handles have that reverberating-up-the-arm impact shock thing so I avoid metal handles. The hoe is sharp! And sturdy; a good width & length. The tines are sharp, wide & squared, not tubular—and work way better in my “soil of many rocks.” The angle that the head is attached to handle (not 90°) is ergonomically awesome! Someone who has actually used one of these must have designed it. The steel wedge that secures the head to handle protrudes a little more than I thought it would, but it means no problem if need to tighten in future. The “finishing” on some edges, etc is very good, though not puurrrrfectly smooth like on some machined tools, but IMO this wasn’t supposed to be a work of art to be admired for its perfection of the tiniest details—they got the crafting right—it is very well made for digging in the dirt. Thank you to craftspeople who made this-it’s a tool I’ve used for a few months and I imagine it will last for many more gardening seasons.

A Small Tool With Capable of Hard work Work
This is perfect for those who want a gardening tool capable of light-handed digging or aggressive pick-axe like work.I have a Himalayan blackberry invasion in my yard. I have hired people to to root them out, but pulling us the sprouts never ends -the roots run under the lawn throughout the yard.I have nerve damage in my neck and this well made tool is easy to wield against those stubborn roots. I wouldn’t be able to use a pick but this works as well against these nasty invaders...that yield such delicious fruit. In softer soil (or after breaking the dirt up with the blade) the claw grabs the villainous buggers and brings them to the surface.Your needs may be different but I can’t imagine any tool out there as capable as this one when it comes to breaking up and sifting thru dry flower beds or patches of lawn invaded by weeds...or the curse of those determined blackberries.

Perfect for garlic chives
This is an excellent weeding tool. Very comfortable weight, light enough to be easy to handle but heavy enough to penetrate deeply into the soil when swung with force. For the record, mine weighed 574 gm / 1.25# / 20.2 oz. Finish isn’t perfect, but matches the low price.UPDATE: After using it for a week I have found that the tines bend more easily than I would have liked. The good news is that this does not affect performance, and they are easy to straighten. Care should be taken to avoid prying against roots and rocks. Regardless, I still like this tool.

Quality tool
Well made in all respects. The wood in my particular handle is beautifully figured. The tool seems to be designed in a useful utilitarian manner. It just works well. It's a pleasure to use because of the beauty of its design and function. My first order disappeared within the Post Office matrix. Worth stealing ..
