Uncle Mike's Tactical Reflex Open Top Holster

Nice, solid, adjustable cant and height, functional, very well built, and attaches two ways. Nothing about this is flimsy!Don't know what else one could ask for - being as it appears no one else makes one for the G2 Taurus models in this general format. I was actually looking for a Fobus paddle holster which was my preference from past use, but they don't make one for the G2 at this time. The Fobus might be a hair more comfortable to wear in the over the belt yet inside the pants padded paddle (then over skivvies of course) config, but this Mike's was NOT UNcomfortable.It's part of the Uncle Mikes design to intentionally require a little rear inward twist to remove the piece, and it works as intended. It takes a fair amount of practice to make it fluid, but once you do, it's fine. Again, I prefer by a small margin the Fobus extraction method of a sharp sudden yank and NO twisting needed. That said, if one fell down for any reason while carrying, it may stand a slightly better chance of STAYING holstered with the Uncle Mikes. For the price, one cannot complain.For those of you who prefer suspenders under your shirt yet over a tee shirt, while carrying to support the weight better, I HIGHLY suggest the Perry suspenders, and they are available here. They SOLVED the clips slipping off the pants/shorts constant delima! I did find that a tie to hold the single rear U shaped device that cradles your belt from underneath, is best to keep it from slipping off while getting dressed and you can't reach back there to fix it with old shoulders.Anyone carrying SHOULD be practicing and be very serious about the responsibility and safety of others, and again, IF you do so, it comes more naturally.

Great holster and for a great price. I bought this after finding a promotion from Uncle Mike's for a 50% rebate. This is my go to OTW (outside the waistband) holster. I really like that the holster came with a paddle attachment as well as a belt slide attachment. The holster provides great retention for your firearm with virtually no risk of it falling loose. The only way to remove the firearm from the holster is to twist the firearm towards your body.With the firearm unloaded and safe I had a friend try to pull the firearm from the holster. He wasn't able to pull the firearm out from the front, to my right side, or from behind me.With proper training the firearm can quickly be drawn, IMO, faster than a traditional holster with a snap or strap over the grip.I would recommend this holster to anyone who requires a solid and secure holster for their firearm.

Superb outside the waistband holster! Super comfortable and holds my S&W M&P .40 Compact close to the body. It retains the gun beautifully and it is quick and easy to draw after just a little practice. One thing that I did do though.....the holster is for the full sized M&P which created empty holster space at the bottom (muzzle end) of the holster. The M&P Compact fit and functioned perfectly in the holster but that empty holster length/empty space tended to poke my upper thigh while sitting (I wear it at 2 o'clock position). So what I did was remove belt loops/paddle, which makes the holster perfectly square, and then put the holster in my miter saw, cut the bottom 1.25 inches off, then took some sand paper and rounded off all of the square cut edges. PERFECTION! The holster still functions perfectly, protects the end of the barrel, and gives me tons of room no matter how I am sitting. Uncle Mike's writes in their documetation that any alteration voids the warranty, but who cares! It is now super comfortable. They should offer the length that I created for the Compact.

I really like this holster. I have carried my Glock 17 in a Serpa level II holster for three years, and I finally wanted to try something different. This holster from Uncle Mikes works very well. It's stupid simple to use. There are no buttons, levers, or straps to get in the way of your draw. After about a dozen (unloaded) draws, the holster works perfectly for me. The draw is very "Reflex"ive. Just a slight twist in towards your body, and the retaining hook over the trigger guard allows clearance of the gun.*Note to "Safe Queen" gun owners--this holster may scratch your fine piece because of the twisting motion required in the removal of the weapon. To those of us who carry a firearm openly everyday and want simple security above all else--this is a great holster. There is no movement of the gun inside the holster once secured.The holster itself-excluding the portion placed behind the belt, is only 1/16 of an inch thicker than the Serpa holster I have been using. No, you probably aren't going to be able to conceal this holster and gun combo very well, but that isn't really the point of this thing anyway.The included belt slide attachment is very secure to the holster. It uses all three small (and I believe too short) machine screws screwed into threaded steel inserts inside the holster body. The reason I gave this holster four stars is for the paddle attachment and short screws. When using the paddle attachment, only TWO of the three small machine screws (which I believe are too short) will line up with the holster body, allowing for less attachment points. Also, the paddle body does not sit exactly straight and flush against the holster body because of the way the legs for the paddle are bent towards the holster body. This puts further strain on the only two small attachment screws. The belt retainer claws for the paddle attachment are not adjustable for smaller width belts, but with so much tension provided by the heavy duty plastic legs of the paddle, this isn't an issue.Because of the twisting motion transferred to the screws by the design of the holster, as well as the possibility of an attempted gun-grab, I wanted three screws to attach my paddle to the holster body. I drilled a hole through the paddle attachment to line up with the third existing hole in the holster body. I also changed out the short machine screws for longer ones, and put small nuts on the backside inside the holster body. I also used thread locking compound on the screws. After these modifications, I had my burly father almost pick me up by the grip on my (Unloaded) Glock. No movement, no breakage. That is secure enough for me!After using this holster for several weeks of daily work while open carrying, I have come to really like it. Other than the modifications I made, I think this is a great holster.
