...Not new!
I decided to buy this book because it claimed it was new and the price was fair. IT WAS NOT A NEW ONE! It was obvious a used one, in a neat condition thou. This book should includes a code to take a test online. The code was missing so that means that i have to buy it separate. I have to pay $50.00 for just that code. Very disappointed! It is like paying for a brand new book from borders without the two weeks i had to wait to be delivered. I learn my lesson, I am not buying more books here.if you are planning to buy a new book, make sure it is NEW and includes everything you need. Nowadays books are coming with access to websites with more useful information and/or testing. I would say, save the hassle and buy one from a place you are sure are new. Unless you are just expecting the hard copy of the book.

But it if you need it - used.
Used for 1st year CHEF class. This book is organized with pictures, lists, highlight boxes, preview and review sections, key points, a glossary and an index. Some sections seem a bit disorganized even though the author(s) claim it has been deliberately set up for student success. Mheh.

Excellent Educational Book
ServSafe is an excellent book for educational purposes. It is well structured, very organized and to the point. The key terms, discussion topics and questions in the back of the chapter are helpful in preparing for the ServSafe exam. The extraneous info is minimized, except for Chapter 2. Chapter 2 covers pathogens (bacterias, toxins, fungi and parasites) in a fair amount of detail. The ServSafe exam did not ask many questions specifically on pathogens.

Like New Book
It's a rental which i'm happy about I don't need to keep the book anyways. It's clean, pages aren't sticky. Its in like new condition. I do the review questions by writing them out so I won't be needing to write in this at all and can't wait to send it back

Bought the book for my friend who is taking a course at the community college, he is planning to be a chef and book is used for the intro to cooking series. Program is accredited through southern association of schools and college, which means it is ACCREDITED. Be careful for you who don't know the difference, it makes where accreditation is from.
