My dog and I love it.
I love it.To all who has leaking valve problem, purchase "Senninger 10 PSI 3/4 Hose Thread Pressure Reducer for Drip Irrigation". Picture is included. The regulator will bring your house pressure 75-80PSI to 10PSI which is perfect for plastic float valves. With the regulator the bowl is working perfect.

Good idea and has potential but quality is lacking
Design and function are spot on. 5 stars for that. Quality of manufacturing and assembly leaves this product with many problems. A few simple quality checks before distribution would have made a huge difference. First of all to all homeowners - I would NEVER recommend using ANY product indoors which has a mechanical float attached to a OPEN water supply!! At some point it will fail!! And it will happen when you are not home.I placed my water bowl outdoors and it also had a small leak from day one. My first leak was due to the brass fitting on the inside having a slight nick in it. So the brass fitting (shutoff) wouldn't completely seal against the rubber on the float. After fixing the fitting the bowl worked flawlessly.... for about a month. Then the water level slowly crept up until it eventually started running over again. This time, as others claim, I found that the float was full of water. I drilled a small hole into the float and after draining the water I then blew air into the hole. That exposed several tiny holes around the float. After sealing all of the holes with silicone the product is back to working flawlessly. IF you are a do-it-yourselfer you can make this work with little effort. IF you are not then I suggest returning it or don't buy it until they get the issues worked out of it.To manufacturer - I do really like this product and would buy it again. Although I would rather spend my time on hobbies instead of repairing things. Quality testing products during the entire product lifecycle is a must if you intend to have happy and repeat customers!! Hope you work through these issues. It has great potential.

Can be made to work safely indoors but requires serious improvements
We've had this product up and running for over 2 years now and we definitely like the convenience and simplicity this product has but it comes with some serious manufacturing and design deficiencies which limit it's capability. As stated by the seller, this unit is designed for outdoor use and for that purpose I imagine it works reasonable well....but it will leak...outdoors that may not be much of an issue. We wanted to and do use the bowl indoors and for that use I made some serious improvements to the product to get it to function safely indoors; even while we are away with no concerns about leaking.First, the movable blue float is manufactured poorly and it eventually fills with water...the more water inside the float, the less buoyancy it has and the fuller the bowl fills until it over flows...many others have identified this defect.....easy to fix....drill a hole, drain it, epoxy glue all the seams, test it for leaks after the glue dries with compressed air through the hole; assuming it is now sealed, epoxy the hole. That fix is done!On the improvements side, the float shuts off the incoming water supply by pressing a rubber/silicone pad against a small brass nozzle connected to your water supply...the higher the float, the harder the rubber pad presses against the inlet nozzle...the nozzle is relatively small with sharp edges to facilitate an effective seal against the rubber pad but I found my unit failed to seal tightly after about a year....the fix? I placed a few concentric o-rings behind the rubber pad in it's mounting which causes the pad to stick out an extra 1/16th of an inch...this extra protrusion improves the sealing capacity of the float mechanism with the downside being it also causes the bowl to only fill 3/4's full...the key is with this modification the seal is complete and incoming water totally shuts off making the product more usable indoors. The second improvement relates to the rear gasket...as the bowl ages this u shaped gasket towards the back of the bowl becomes more brittle and compressed along the vertical sides...this degradation causes water just sitting in a full bowl to begin leaking out the back as it seeps past the gasket...the fuller the bowl gets, the more water that leaks...this leaks is driven by just the pressure of water standing in the bowl...meaning it will leak as long as there is water in the bowl..... even if the incoming water line is shut off between uses.....the fix? I installed a thicker o-ring type gasket and i then completely sealed off the back of the unit with drinking water safe silicone glue....this means there are no more inadvertent leaks out the back of the unit but it also means the unit can no longer be easily disassembled which was required for the above two fixes I previously discussed....so, this step must be done last.I took one extra step and that was to install a pressure reduction valve on the incoming water line that feeds our bowl...you can buy portable pressure reduction valves designed for use on water lines feeding RV's through Amazon for about $25...this step is not necessarily required but I felt the seal against the incoming water flow would be even more secure if I reduced our street water pressure from about 55psi to 20psi...to ensure this simple float mechanism could completely seal against the incoming water pressure....all these fixes have been in place for several months now with virtually no leaks...it is surprising to see how much splashing the dogs create themselves though even with a now leak-proof bowl.

Product leaks because of poor rubber material used. Lack of customer support.
I've owned this product since August 2017, and as of a few months ago the Easy-Clean Water bowl it started failing. There is a small circular rubber piece that supposedly stops the water from flowing through a tiny nozzle. This rubber piece begins to wear down after so long from the valve's upward and downward movement because the tiny nozzle is brass and has a flat point. The product will eventually leak because of this poor rubber material used to stop the water pressure.I've tried contacting the makers on their website when the product was starting to leak. No response. I'm still under the one year warranty and would like to get a replacement. That is my big reason for the 1-star review is just the lack of communication.

This waterer SAVED me!
Against my wishes, I inherited 40 chickens of which I know nothing about. The stress of refilling and cleaning their water and food several times a day was overwhelming. I found this waterer. It was very small and had not so good reviews but I watched a video by the man who made it and I was impressed with him and why he designed it the way he did. He is BRILLIANT!I built my own holder so it can never get any kind of chicken waste into the bowl. It is amazing. I have had it installed for a few weeks now and have never had to water the chickens EVER. The bowl stays immaculately clean and They are HAPPY chickens, and so am I. The floor looks dirty but that is because —much to my dismay— I learned you have to spread earth diatomaceous around for their health. Only some things can stay totally clean in a coop.
