I bought these for getting food and the wood chip box in and out of a hot electric smoker. So far they have been great. I like the length of these gloves.

UPDATE... After using these for a few weeks, the thermal properties have diminished. They hardly hold up to a 350° oven now. Not as great as they first were, I'd NEVER use these on a bbq. I work in a professional kitchen & these have been a life saver. I use them every time I get into the oven, a little warmth gets thru but that's it. I'm very happy with my purchase.

I'd give these 5 stars except for one thing: If you use one of them to pull something out of the oven quickly, and then use your other hand to pull the glove off when you're done there's a good chance the grips on the glove will still be hot enough to burn you.In other words, they appear to have great thermal conductivity.

Updated More 4/19/2019The company was very fast to reach out and sent a new pair of gloves. I won't have much opportunity to use these replacements until next winter, but I'm going to be more careful with what I handle. Let's see if these ones will last like they're expected to.UpdatedAfter just a couple of months of use, these started to fall apart. You can see that the outside material came apart on the thumb, and has gradually expanded more and is starting to unravel on more of the fingers. I'll be honest, I'm picking up oak that is on fire with these, but isn't that what the description claims I can do? And they're great, but I'm starting to be worried now that they're unraveling. I think I'll be purchasing a different pair for next winter.Original ReviewThese gloves do exactly what they say they'll do. I'm using them to manage the wood in my fireplace. I've got oak burning, so it's hot, but these gloves do great. I can pick up a piece of burning oak for about 5 seconds. It starts getting pretty hot in the gloves after that amount of time. The heat spreads quickly through the glove, which is an odd sensation, but makes sense. I would certainly recommend these gloves!I haven't tried cutting them with a knife.

These gloves are perfect for use when cooking on my hibachi.In error, I ordered the small size, which are definitely for people with small hands!!I contacted the company and they immediately sorted out the problem in a quick efficient manner.I highly recommend this company.

I will keep these gloves as a just in case if I need to transfer some food out of my over, but be quick when working in the grill as you will realize that you will start to feel the burn through the gloves...
