Very versatile fan!
This fan is HUGE, I used it to replace a 200mm fan my case came with and this fan can move more air than it could and be quieter doing it. The fan gets loud when having it move more air, but I keep it turned way down and it provides very adequate cooling and can barely be heard! It didn't play well with my PWM fan controller though, so beware of that. This is not a fault of the fan though since high wattage motors click when using PWM as a control method, I just used the included controller instead and no problems!

Great fan. Loads of airflow At 2000 RPM it ...
Great fan. Loads of airflowAt 2000 RPM it does sound like a hairdryer. But that's the price of that much airflow.Running GTX 980 Ti in SLI. GPU1 was hitting the thermal limit for the card, 83 deg.Once these fans went in, GPU1 temp dropped to 70 - 72 deg. Definitely worth it.One thing to note. The amp and wattage of these fans was too much for my motherboards fan headers. Connected them up and the motherboard would not post. Gave a DRAM error light. Had to plug them in to a Molex connector.Overall, worth it. If you want massive airflow with some caveats, then this is your fan.

Great fans with a catch
These fans are basically unparalleled when it comes to air flow and I've been able to get unbelievably good temps on my build with them however I absolutely HATE the proprietary analog controller these use as the cable that is required to get them to spin faster than 500rpm. It is such a flimsy connection and can easily snap off on even the most gentle of tugs so be very careful when handling it because if it breaks you're SOL.

Worked well
I used it for a RV stove exhaust fan to replace a standard noisy fan. This one us much quieter, is variable speed and about the same volume as the one replaced. I took a bit of work to install it, but not too bad.

The Samuel L. Jackson of case fans.
Remember Pulp fiction? These fans are bad ass!! I think they draw 18 watts and look bad ass in the bottom of an RV-03 case. They are a funny size, they generally work with a voltage controlled fan headers on a Gigabyte Fan Control 5 motherboard. So probably only good for some Silverstone cases and seriously custom setups. However, they move air in an abundance you cannot get from any other fan. These are the AP183, and I replaced the stock AP181(still working but you get kind of bad after 8 years) the case came with, a drop in and even the speed dials bolted in to the original switch locations. These fans spin faster and move more air than the originals. If you need this much air as these fans move on high then you probably have serious problems.Fortunately these work great at much lower speeds, at the desktop they silent. But wow, they make a statement when you max them!! Not of whine or bearing noise, more like an FTL drive spooling! Yes, these fans are so massive that they take time to ramp up, you seriously need finger guards with these things.

Oh it gets loud, when on high , comes with a speed/dimmer knob
This fan does both.It screams to 2000RPM which is a very fast rate for a 180mmturn the supplied (small) dial down just a little from highest, and it moves a massive quantity of air still, quietlyit goes to 11 :-) works great at 10 .

Silverstone 180mm Fans are Really Great ---- But....
Just to be clear up front, I really do like this 180mm "Air Penetrator" fan. In fact, I've been bought several of them during the last couple of years. The blades seem balanced well enough that they don't develop much vibration, they move an awful lot of air, and even though they aren't silent at full speed, the noise at full speed is almost entirely that of moving air.I use these whenever I have a motherboard out on a table that I'm testing or that I'm using to test other components ---- just putting one of these fans over the motherboard virtually guarantees that everything beside the CPU will remain cool no matter what I'm doing.HOWEVER... AND NOW COMES THE PROBLEM...Silverstone calls this fan a 180mm fan. And that seems to be perfectly accurate as the frame is actually 180mm x 180mm ---- no problem there. However, unlike most other sizes of fan from 25mm all the way up to 140mm, there doesn't seem to be industry-wide agreement on the positioning of the mounting holes where it comes to 180mm fans.As a result, it has so far proven impossible to find a finger guard / fan grill of any type that has a hole pattern that aligns with the mounting holes on any Silverstone's 180mm fans. And I have tried finger guards / fan grills from several sources ---- but it appears that no one makes any such thing. This is a problem most especially for the 180mm Air Penetrator fan given how fast the blades move at full speed ---- since I can't find any kind of finger guard for these fans, I have to use them without that basic form of protection, and I've paid for that on a couple of occasions with a bit of skin scraped off a finger tip or knuckle by the fan blades. It's one thing for me to choose to subject myself to such a thing, but since I build computers for others in my family, I can't just choose to let the same thing happen to them. So, I've been forced to switch away from Silverstone's 180mm fans, in spite of how much I like them, to other, smaller fans for finger guards / fan grills are extremely easy to find. So, if you want to use Silverstone's 180mm fans (especially the 180mm Air Penetrator), I would be the first to say that they work beautifully, and you'll really like them... right up to the moment that you accidentally let one of your fingers get a little too close to one. I find it a good idea to keep a box of bandaids handy..It's my personal opinion, since there is no one else making a finger guard / fan grill that fits Silverstone's 180mm fans, properly, Silverstone really, really should put out one, themselves. Alternatively, I suppose they could redesign their 180mm fans to integrate a finger guard / fan grill. Either way, something really needs to be done as this situation is kind of ridiculous.

Does what it advertises to do.
It's a monster at full RPM, but I say that in a pleasant way. Yeah, it's a bit loud, but what are you expecting? At low power it's silent. It is EXACTLY what I was expecting and what was advertised. My son enjoys turning the nob and saying PREPARE FOR TAKEOFF!Although not recommended, I did run it off a motherboard sys_pump header for a few hours without actually checking if the header provided the necessary power. Did a rewire of the system after and installed the controller+to directly to psu w/the provided connector.

Silverstone Tek Air Penetrator 180 X 180 X 32mm / 500rpm ~ 2000rpm
Just what I was looking for. Thing roars at 2000 RPM and I love having an Analog dial to adjust the Fan for when I'm Overclocking or Gaming at High Load.
