Great beginner mandolin!
Hi! Got this for my husband for Christmas. Neither of us knows tons about Mandolins, but he's received lots of compliments from others (who play) about the sound. It looks exquisite and came in perfect condition. I would definitely recommend this as a lovely sounding (and great looking) beginner mandolin!

Mandolin
I received my Sunburst F Style Mandolin in record time. It is a beautiful instrument and I have enjoyed learning to play it. I might mention that I play the guitar, banjo and lap dulcimer, so the recent adventure with another instrument is another adventure into music.I do not read music and play by ear. Actually my brother got a guitar when I was 7 years old and I was told "not to touch it". Being the hillbilly child with a love of music, that was like an open invitation for me. My musical adventure was on its way.I love the sound of the mandolin and plan to have many musical adventures with it. I would recommend it to anyone who has that burning desire to play music.

Best Mando bargain out there...
I purchased mine from an Ebay retailer. I was completely stunned by the sound of the instrument when I received it. I had recently purchased an Ibanzez M511S A-Style mandolin with a solid top for about $179, and there is absolutely no comparison between the Ibanez and this sub-$300 wonder. Action on the Ibanez is a bit on the high side, and can not be brought down due to bad fret buzzes. In comparison, the action on the Savannah (SF-200) was comfortably low with no evidence of fret buzz. Overall tone on the Ibanez is a bit choked, whereas the Savannah had a nice, clear, open, "resonant" tone. This is probably due to the carved solid spruce forming the soundboard on the SF-200, vs. the compression-shaped solid top on the Ibanez. Aesthetically, while the Ibanez was nicely finished, the Savannah has a much more appealing, dark sunburst with beautifully figured solid maple on the back and sides (not usually seen on an instrument in this price range). One would normally expect to pay AT LEAST $500 to $600 dollars for a solid, carved-top mandolin. For the small difference in price between many other low-end solid top mandolins and this model by Savannah, I can WHOLEHEARTEDLY recommend this instrument as possessing the tone and playability of mandolins costing 2-3x the price.

This is a quality mandolin, especially considering the price range.
I have been playing mandolin for several years, and stringed instruments for a couple decades. This mandolin is definitely worth the money. Like all mandolins, it requires a little bridge adjustment. There was a little buzz on the A strings (which is to be expected when setting up any mandolin), and was easily fixed by raising the bridge--though I could have tightened the nut instead. Even with the raised bridge I was able to keep the strings considerably lower than my other mandolins. My cheaper mandolins require a lot of pressure to play, and can be taxing on my fingertips. This mandolin doesn't have any of the problems that usually go along with lower-priced mandolins. I have been playing it non-stop for about a month now, and I am extremely pleased.

Well done
Well where do I start, this mandolin is a great mandolin I love it. If you put some elixer string on there a little torq to the truss rod heighten the bridge you will have a 800-900$ sounding mandolin at a low low price. I am thrilled every time I play this instrument Among other people because it dosent sound bad at all I give it a 10/10Btw the case is a quality protectIve caseThanks guys.
