The Grand Grimoire: The Red Dragon

Occult Black Magic
Wish it would have had more graphic pictures, demonic images etc. other than that it's a decent book on black magic.

Wildly entertaining, if nothing else
The Grand Grimoire, coined “The Red Dragon,” and also termed as “The Gospel of Satan,” is an infamous grimoire written with the instructions to summon a demon named ‘Lucifige Rofocale,’ a supposed high-ranking leader in charge of Lucifer’s hell. (The editor made an astute point that Lucifige Rofocale is implied to mean ‘Satan,’ and was really created with the purposes of summoning him.) For those of you unfamiliar with the manuscript itself, the majority of the book’s contents are supposedly locked away deep in the Vatican’s archives. It is assumed that due to the Vatican’s supposed involvement, that we do not have the complete material; therefore, the copy we have is mainly an excerpt. The Grand Grimoire, like most grimoires of its time, takes inspiration from the machinations of King Solomon (for he is mentioned a lot in this text). The main purpose of this grimoire is to communicate with the spirits that Solomon had done, and to obtain whatever knowledge the summoner sees fit.The Grand Grimoire is also filled with other various spells besides the invocation of Lucifige Rofocale. As one Amazon Reviewer pointed out, this text is mostly a collection of various folk magics, such as: invisibility, love, to test a woman’s fertility, to travel ten-miles per hour, etc. In addition, this text also contains various omen interpretations, and a random recipe to create glue.I would implore the reader to not take this grimoire so seriously, as it filled with ridiculous (yet wildly entertaining) material. Boiling a black cat, choking a black hen, sitting a certain way, writing one’s name in blood, are just some of the bizarre offering this book offers. However, it is a good book to draw comparisons to other grimoires of its time, and an amusing short read. (That being said, I do plan on trying to concoct the recipe for glue, out of curiosity.)For those interested in languages, the book contains much Latin; I found the words and prayers to be profoundly beautiful. Finally, I will say, this text is a product of its time; therefore, my advice is to treat it exactly as that.

The interpretation is only as good as the interpreter
My mom used to say that "any holy book we get to day is only as good as the scribe that wrote it. And that the interpretation is only as good as the interpreter. That folks should remember that were reading what other peoples think that they read in a book. The writer may have meant something different."I think that in some states in the US it is against the law to teach some kinds of actions; because someone might really do that kind of thing. Slaves and Ox, cows were usually donated for a sacrifice to be breeders for everyone. the family made the sacrifice by giving something to the whole area in hopes that everyone would gain form the perfect cow. So the book might be way off. It is an ok read but it is not mind candy and I would think that only folks over 40 should read the book.

The book arrived slightly dirty
I'm not sure if in the images it can be seen well, but inside the book it was dirty, now this is just a pet peeve, but if it's a brand new book, (and it at least seems n feels like it is) then it shouldn't arrive with dirt inside of the pages. Other than that, the typical corner dent from shipping.

Occult
Called the most wicked book ever. I enjoyed this short read very much. I actually felt honored to have it. A must for your occult library. But...be warned! Owning and reading this book may open the gates and let loose the hounds of hell and ruin your life. Proceed with caution☠️

Does not contain secret knowledge
I'm a student of the occult, a collector of obscure knowledge. The description misrepresented this book as a publication of lost esoteric knowledge. A grimoire of ancient wisdom long buried in the bowels of Vatican's Bibliotheca. Unfortunately, I fell for the hyperbole. This is a mash-up of basic pact working combined with folk magic spells, but DOES NOT contain secret knowledge which cannot easily be found elsewhere.

An Intriguing Read
Even though some may think it's a rather short text, it is an important work to acquire and read if you have any interest in the occult and its history. As Tarl states in the foreword, this text is linked to writings about Solomon "...and his power over certain demonic forces...", which have been left out of the bible, as are many other texts. Very well edited and illustrated.

Warning! Very dark and powerful literature
This is a treasure to have. Will I ever do one of these rituals? Hell no! But as a knowledgeable witch, I treasure all of the knowledge I’ve found and take pride of myself for having such a collection of books I’ve found over the years on the craft, especially about this book about the rituals King Solomon used. Warning! There are dark and sinister descriptions in all of the rituals. One of them is about sacrificing a boy. That’s all I need to say. And yes I was shocked and horrified when I read this book. But I then realized that as long as i don’t perform the acts in this book, then it won’t hurt me. It also won’t hurt anyone else to read this book, unless if you are sensitive to stuff like this. This book did scar me but I got over it and accepted the fact that this book is nothing but a beautiful piece of history of King Solomon. For those that want to study on what King Solomon studied and practiced years ago, this book is for you. But if you end up performing one of these rituals, then g-d help you.

Grand copy of the Grand Grimoire
I think the most striking feature of Tarl Warwicks work, is perhaps its similarity, to those grimoires of the Bibliotheque Bleue Genre, of which the Grand Grimoire is one of the most prominent alongside the Grimorium Verum. This text, fills a gap in modern day occultism. There are few copies of the Grand Grimoire about that are of any decent quality, and there are no others that are both satisfactory in quality and cheaply priced. Here however, Tarl Warwick takes one by surprise. He has fixed the formatting issue that one previous user pointed out, and has provided what I believe to be the definitive edition of the Grand Grimoire. This text is highly important to those practising from within the Grimoire tradition, as it bridges the hierarchy of the Pseudomonarchia Daemonum (Source of the Goetia), to the Grimorium Verums Infernal Deputies and the Infernal Trinity of Lucifer, Belzebuth and Ashtarot. It is an excellent little text and those looking to work with it, will be pleasantly surprised. The quality of the physical book itself is decent, it isn't anything particularly fancy and you won't find any talismanic hardback bindings here. However for the price, it is of better than expected quality. All in all, I recommend this to both Scholars and practitioners of the Western Magical Traditions.
