High quality OTF for a great price.
I've owned many OTF-style knives. Some I bought for $10 and a few that I paid well over $600 a piece for. All of them are fun to play with but you know which one you're playing with by how it feels (and sounds) when deployed. Well, this one is a little different. You can blindfold most people and have them deploy this one and then deploy the (I won't say the name) OTF by which all other OTFs are judged by and they will not be able to tell you which is $79 knife over the $500 knife. The only real difference will be the steel quality of the blade and the ability to keep an edge longer. However, if you're on the fence, just buy the damn thing and return it within 30 days if you don't like it. You won't return it.Blade play or blade slop is a part of ever OTF knife out there (unless we're talking about the DeadLock OTF that has a base price of $1,100!) but this one has a very minimal amount; on par with the higher-end OTF knives. My only issue is that I can't find any information about the company, MTN, anywhere. I'd really like to see if they have a catalog of other blade styles. That slight issue aside, this knife has been put into EDC rotation along side a Benchmade Adamas and a Spyderco Military Model G-10 for comparison. It's a great little knife for guys that like knives.

The best OTF knife I own, HANDS DOWN!
I would first like to say, this is the best OFT knife I have ever owned, hands down!Next, I want to let everyone know that this is an unbiased review and was not given anything for this review. Some background info. on who I am: I am the Sales Manager for a firearm manufacturer in southern Utah that prides themselves on having the best quality. We have been compared to Lamborghini, and NASA, by, World of Firepower Magazine. I consider myself one of the experts in the industry of firearms and knives. I have owned some of the cheapest knives out there, along with some of the most expensive knives in the industry. I own over 20 benchmades and 5 microtechs ranging from $150 to well over $700 per knife. (Photo attached of some of my knives) a lot of my knives are OTF style knives. I can honestly say I CANNOT tell any difference between the quality of the entire knife to my high-end more expensive knives. This includes texture, action, smoothness, and sharpness. The only difference or thing that sets this knife apart from being considered a tier-one high-end knives is the blade steel. The blade steel for this knife is 440c which is considered an UPPER MID-RANGE knife steel. The steel on Benchmade and microtech knives is a much higher knife steel. These high-end companies use some of the most premium knife steels out.In summary, this knife most definitely does NOT fall under the category of a cheap knife, but, falls under the category of an inexpensive high-quality knife. If the knife was offered in 154cm or higher knife steel it would easily be considered a tier 1 premium knife and fetch the money associated with that.I PROMISE YOU IF YOU PURCHASE THIS KNIFE YOU WILL NEVER REGRET IT!!!FYI: OTF (out the front knives) are not legal to own in every state and city. Please check your local laws to ensure it is legal for you to have these knives.

Greatest purchase ever.
What a happy day. I received my knife today and have been putting it thru its paces. It opens and closes with a nice satisfing thunk. The weight is surprisingly lighter than I thought it was going to be. I have wanted one of these types of knives for a long time but after looking at some in the $200 and up range did not think I would be getting one. This is the same quality as the much more expensive ones. My favorite part if you open it and it hits something it will not keep going. You do have to reset it by pulling the blade out then it works great. Lobe that feature. Amazing knife would buy again and again.

5 star product
Some are saying this is the same quality as the ultratechs. This is not true, of course. Even in this price range there are a few more options that are more combat ready. I kinda didn't like this knife at first but to be honest it is a quality product. Long story short, I collect knives likes this and purchased it for a friend who has a thing for green. The knife is solid and well made from some decent materials. To be honest, you are getting a 5 star product. My criticism/suggestion is that there should be more choices and options for customization of the knives. You don't have a black blade with a black handle and neither does the tanto blade come in black. If there were both the double sided and tanto blades with everything blacked out that would be great. Great for business for sure.

Fantastic for those that use their knives
This is an awesome knife for the price. Sure it's just 440c, rather than some cutting edge, cryogenically treated steel, but the craftsmanship is excellent, and I will be buying more. As a machinist by trade, I pay close attention to the fit and precision of manufacture of most tools and knives that I buy. Regardless of where this knife is made (it's not marked, but I'm sure it's the usual Asian locations as most other knife companies use), MTN clearly maintains tight tolerance on their CNC machines, because all of the parts fit as tightly as they can while still allowing smooth operation. Like all OTFs there is some blade play, but it's minimal for this type of auto. I'm impressed; finally a quality OTF under $300. As for the reviewer that was disappointed with the knife's sharpness...it is sharp, and shaved the hair on my arm, but not as cleanly as a blade honed to a razor sharp edge. It has a primary edge but no finely honed secondary edge. To me this makes sense, as the blade (I have the double edged version) is intended for defense, which is not supposed to have the fine, easily damaged edge of a fillet knife. You can sure add it though, with a fine arkansas stone or a DMT diamond hone. Since I don't buy $450 OTF Microtecs or Benchmades just to put in a glass case next to $100 cigars, as some sort of status symbol, these MTN are an excellent alternative. Sure, higher end steel would be great, but for people that actually carry their knives, these are great quality and a fantastic option. I can honestly say that this is one of the few auto knives in this price range that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
