I have used driveway alerts in the past and was not very stisfied. They either were not loud enough to be heard through out the house or the motion detector to the receiver distance was to short for them to be fuctional in my installation. That is not the case here. The motion detector is over 200' from the receiver and it works great. The volume on the alarm is very loud and can be heard in any area of the house. I can not say how long it will last but so far this unit is well worth the money. I ordered a second one today for another area.

We had a driveway alert similar to this - it lasted 3 years; then the ants built a home inside of it and it quit working. Thank goodness I found this one. It's even better than what we had. It does occasionally go off when the cat walks by or if a herd of deer crosses our yard within its viewing range. It's secured next to a tree on a 4-foot pole. It works perfectly to let me know when someone is in our driveway - since we don't have any windows facing our drive, this is very important to me. We finally wised up and bought an outside mirror for the porch so that we can look out the front window and see if the alarm is for the cat, the deer, or if someone has arrived for a visit/delivery. We are very happy with this Safety Alert and would highly recommend it. It's like caller id - you know someone is here before the knock on the door.

Did not weather outside well. 3 years sensor went bad.

I bought this product to protect my backyard from potential thieves. Either the advertising was a bit confusing or purposely meant to be deceiving. The distance for the alarm and detector to work together is up to 400 feet but the actual distance of motion detected is listed as 8 meters or 24 feet but it's actually more like 15-18 feet but that is more than enough for what I need. The angle of detection from left to right is about 30 degrees or so. at least that what the box says. Its also really easy to install. Took it out of the packaging, popped in the batteries and switched it to on. Just have to drill in the screw for where ever you want to mount the detector and you're done. Great product. Buying two more for another family member.

This motion sensor chime is quite effective. It took a few tries to find the perfect location. When it was high up on the porch soffit it didn't cover as much area as I needed, so lower was better. I ended up placing it facing the porch about three feet off the ground on the window sill. It works well enough to detect cats and squirrels as well as people. The volume on low is plenty loud for indoor use. When on the loudest setting and placed in the back yard, for example, it can be heard in the front yard.

i got this so when my cat comes to the door from outside and wants to come in, it will alert me, so that I can let her in ASAP. We have coyotes in our neighborhood and I can not keep her as an indoor cat, so I like her only to be outside for as little TIME as possible. She only weighs 7 lbs, so this DOES DETECT PETS! I have the detecting light outside, on the ground about 5 ft. away from the entry. As she walks up to the door, I hear the receiver Chime, and see the flashing lights. She now thinks I am Psychic!! When she is safely in the house, I can turn of the receiver to save battery life. I Can, but do not use it as a security alarm...that noise is piercing and loud. THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I BOUGHT THE PRODUCT FOR AND I WAS HOPING IT WOULD WORK AS IT DOES. VERY HAPPY, ESPECAILLY FOR THE PRICE!

Works pretty well with the exception that it produces a lot of false alerts.

Works like it is supposed to. Have it set up in my garage across the street. Have one outside so I know if someone is walking around the garage and have one inside so I know if someone breaks in. Works great!

This works well, I had a similar previously and so this was a replacement, a little hard to change the chime but apart from that, a good sensor for gate/driveway

I was very happy with the range that this unit could connect. We have a very long lane and it was able to receive the signal where we put it in the house. It is great to be notified when we have someone coming up our lane as we can not see to the end of the lane. The different settings are great including the alarm feature. If you have a shed or your garage, this will definitely alert you if someone breaks in.Our main problem is that the unit is too sensitive. We have tried putting it at 5 ft, 4ft 3ft and I am now thinking of putting it at 2ft. The problem is when it becomes very windy. It picks up the moving trees across from it and sets off the alarm. (continuously) I am not finished with the unit yet as I may try to put it at another location but I am worried it will not pick up the coming traffic. IF I can not find a way to stop the continuous alarm when it gets windy, I will have to return the unit.
