Fantastic book for every Iraqi Jewish Kitchen! Great way to keep Iraqi heritage alive and great book to pass on to the generations.

I purchased this book for my sisters birthday so only glanced at it perfunctorily. Then it was stolen by operatives of the State before I could give it to her. However, the recipes looked nice and it shows that the SOs have good taste if questionable morals.

A delightful account of memories which need to be preserved. Food keeps memories alive and the children of Babylonian Jews can use this book to recreate the dishes eaten at family feasts I have learned from mu in-laws how to appreciate and prepare these wonderful flavours. However, perhaps the title is a little mis-leading in that there is a section on the author's favourite recipes from around the world which would be very alien in Iraqi kitchens.Well worth the effort of producing it though.

I read this book 7 years ago in a public library where I worked as a volunteer. Fell in live with the recipes and so had to but it! It is amazing, a treasure.
