My dad loves it.
So here's why I love this kit and its ilk. My fabulous wonderful dad who is an inventor and engineer. Now at the tender young age of 85 has dementia. His love of all things mechanical hasn't left him but his ability to do the things he did, has. This kit five years ago would have been an insult. Now he is challenged to create the finished item. It is not for want of trying. "The pieces are beautifully laser cut and numbered." It just he gets a little lost as to where he is up to and at finding the numbers. Next year maybe something a little less challenging for him.

Making of a Saint
The Monowheel is best described as a challenge or a Saint Builder, as you will need the patience of a Saint to build it — well worth it. It’s not difficult, just time consuming.. First step is get a needle file, so as to de-burr the holes and plugs on assembly. Parts. Use the ‘two thumbs rule’. Use the pressure of two thumbs to remove parts - both sides if necessary. Assembly. Most holes/plugs need de-burring. Instruction are very good. Except page 18 fig 7 picture 3, the green tick picture, its correct except needs to be installed in the reverse as to what is shown. Do two test runs to ensure it is repeatedly re-engaging. Thats my only negative observation about assembly. Motion. The power generated from an elastic band is very short burst. The friction between the inner and outer rings, which is always there, saps up the energy the elastic band generates for movement. Looks. Eye-catching but lacks colour. Overall. Gives many hours, days and weeks of enjoyment in testing ones skills of assembly. If you enjoyed it look for, like me, something more visual as to look back on, as a result of your efforts. Next - a locomotive.

Well designed and thought out
First time building anything like this but the instructions were clear and easy to follow. Some parts were a little difficult to push together, but rubbing on some of the wax provided to the pegs does the job. It took me a lot longer than the 3 hours it says it takes, but I did use a scalpel to free both faces of each part as the wood does splinter a little and I was worried about parts snapping. The most tedious part for me was waxing around each gear tooth, but it was definitely worth it as it worked perfectly when it was finished! Make sure you try it out on a hard surface because I was a bit disappointed when it didn't work trying it on carpet first...

Steep learning curve, but great fun
The whole experience was fun but the final model was unstable. the stabilisers were not wide enough. Bees wax and oil furniture polish makes a great lubricant!

Good value puzzle/model
This is quite an amazing kit, high in detail, good instructions, and fun to make. Some bits quite fiddly but I do have dodgy fingers! For the more adept this is a nice challenge for a great result.

great for burning the lockdown hours
i started out buying the motorcycle and sidecar the kit came well packaged and was good quality i had no problem with the assembly side of things and the instructions are clear and easy to follow, the monowheel was the last one i built its challenging but if your used to building kits models etc you want have a problem with it, all the kits i have had so far have been great i recomend these to novice builders too,

Great product
The product came right on time for Christmas present. My child of 11 was amazed of it, he assembled it and played with it. I still remember my sons smile of happiness on his face. Great product, very educative for children with mechanical and engeneering skills.
