Attractive butter dish to seal out air and bugs, and with nice lift handle, always have soft butter.
Nice butter dish to keep the butter at room temperature for easy spreading. I use a lot of butter for break, casserole dishes, baking, scrambled eggs, waffles etc. I have to go to the trouble a lot of time to cut off a slice, put it in a baking dish and microwave it. I then use a basting brush to butter whatever or just pour it in the recipe. There was a little work with this because of the type of butter I use (Irish Butter) which has the best taste. I do have to cut it in half because of the width to use it here, but thats not a problem. Some of my other stick butters do OK the way it's designed. Attractive with a nice easy knob on the top to pick it up, if your fingers get all greasy this helps to grip the top. The design is very much like what my mom had in the 1960's and with all the tub spreads, I'm sure there's not as much use for this today, but I like it, it serves a purpose in my dining room. Recommended.

Pretty butter dish
Nice little butter dish. This is a good option if you like to keep stick butter out and on the table. We don't use this daily, but it is good for holidays or big family dinners, get togethers, etc. It looks pretty nice. For some reason my monitor initially made this look like it was a vintage olive green, so you can imagine the pleasant surprise when I received a really pretty teal butter dish. It seals well, so if you leave it out in the summer it shouldn't attract any sort of pests, but we can never promise that when it comes to summer time. Overall the dish is moulded well, and the paint is pretty. We like it!

So pretty it makes me happy!
We have a little butter "door" on the door of our refrigerator, but it only holds a stick of butter in the paper wrapping. This is so much prettier. It makes me happy to use it. One, I get rid of the paper packaging since I don't use it to make precise measurements anyway. Two, when I pull my butter out onto the counter it already has it's own dish that I can use as a base when cutting the butter. Before I was just placing it on the stove and cutting right on top of the stove. I'm ghetto like that, but not anymore. Three, it's pretty when you have it on the table during a meal. Again, no stick of butter in it's paper wrapping.I don't know if this is a good value at $14.99. It seems a bit pricey, but as I am not used to paying for a butter keeper, my frame of reference would not be accurate. I think I would definitely buy it at $9.99 and would hesitate to buy it at $12.99.Also, my butter dish is a bit more green than blue. I feel like the picture is more blue and mine, while still a bit blue green, is more on the green side.I haven't washed it in the dishwasher since we wash dishes by hand most of the time and I have not used it in the microwave, although it says it is microwave safe. It seems like you'd be cleaning a pile of melted butter out of the microwave, unless you're just using it to melt the last few bits remaining on the container before placing a new stick inside.

Great, colorful, sturdy piece
I absolutely love this butter dish. Yeah, it is “just” a butter dish, but what a great butter dish it is! The ceramic material it is made from is very thick, heavy and substantial. The design is in bright, clear colors, and delineated sharply and crisply. No smeary flowers, cheap looking, obvious decals, or sloppy paint job look. And note I picture #2. I took it open and at an angle, to show how huge it is, as butter dishes go. Generally the typical dish is only slightly larger than the standard stick of butter, which is fine. But this is enormous by comparison as you see. We buy big, cylindrical, one-pound rolls of Amish handmade butter. With this, I can carve off a chunk, trim a little and put it in this dish easily, thereby keeping it soft enough to avoid toast sadness - torn up toast from trying to butter it with cold butter.I really like the pattern too. If I could find spoon rests, coasters, trivets, decorative cutting boards, 20oz glasses, or pasta bowls to match, I would definitely buy them!!
