Average male height, average weight, semi athletic, regardless if age, these athletic type socks are the absolute best of 10 different brands I have tried over the last several years. they are built tough, yet flexible & not stiff. Comfortable & non-toe squeezing with thick enough foot pad to wear alone yet not so thick that sometimes I wear an extra thin sock on top in special situations.Amazingly targeted support for different areas of the leg that are completely affective and noticeably leave my leg refreshed. no bruising or gapped compression areas. Nice & uniform refreshing support on foot, ankle and calf. They are long enough to fit a man's leg & comfortably stay up all day. Somehow the combination of weave and material in the socks keeps them up all day Hot or cold rain or shine no matter how active. They are also the easiest sock I've ever had putting on & taking off,..& don't squeeze my toes, feet or legs like sausage! I think there is a video & the key is pinching the heel area to first put on the foot portion and then simply pull leg portion in position unfurling the rest of the way up leg up and inch or two below the calf.it is a true & comfortable 15–20 compression unlike some socks which are loose as a goose or overly stiff and tight. Quality construction. The coloring and mix of subtle design features is a touch of class and very functional making it easier to put the sock on. take a few moments to follow directions and learn the trick. It will forever change how do you put compression socks on.Very unique to this sock tasteful design coloring in the heel and on the front of the sock that allow you to position the sock exactly facing front as you unfurl. No more getting your sock sideways on your foot or pulling it on your foot too far or getting it sideways on your calf and shin! No other sock I've tried has this excellent helpful feature.I never put the sock through the Dryer and instead allow them to air dry which protects the fabric and longevity.all other socks seem to dry out skin on my leg causing sock to collect leg dander that I can see when removing. This sock does not seem to cause that drying at all which allows me to wear the socks for a longer period of time without causing skin issues. There are other advantages too numerous to mention like a nice soft, tailored but secure top that helps keep the sock up without overly pinching veins behind upper calf under knee. The nice pre-curved shape it looks like the profile from the side of your leg and the curve of the calf. I'm sure this is One reason the sock stays up thru exercise or under long legged pants that often rub compression socks down from the knee.Last but not least, made in the United States of America in the mid-south. Great 25$ value!Bottom line: earns *****Five Stars*****

Try 'em. You'll love ,em.
I have now run two obstacle course races, so I'm not an expert by any means. Take that for what it's worth.Anyway, what I can tell you is that out of those two races, I wore the same shoes, the same supportive undergarments, and the same shorts. I wore different t-shirts to each race and on the first race I did not wear MudGear Obstacle Race Compression Socks, whereas on the second one, I DID wear MudGear Obstacle Race Compression Socks. Can you guess what I'm about to say next? Probably, I suck at surprises.Anyway, my second race was longer and had way more obstacles, and I CRUSHED my time from the first race. (Neither time was what you might call "impressive" by any means, but still . . . )Seriously though, my body was wrecked after the first race with blisters and mystery bruises everywhere. On the second race, with the socks, I didn't get a single blister and the mystery bruises below my knee were significantly reduced, especially the ones from an obstacle that appeared at both races, where you had to work your way horizontally and slightly downward across a cargo net without touching the ground - surprisingly gnarly bruises on the backs of my calves after the first race, none after the second. Anecdotal evidence, sure, but I'm thrilled!I was also pleasantly surprised at how well the socks shucked water. Didn't wear any socks in the first race because I'd rather risk a couple blisters than deal with waterlogged socks. Got burned the fist time and found these to solve both problems. Again, I'm a very happy camper . . . or . . . OCR runner . . . or whatever. Also, I just sort of love the compression. I've been caught wearing these puppies around the house by my wife and children (and mocked!), but they're just comfy. Love the way they hug/support my arches, and the compression on the calves is just . . . nice? I don't know if that's weird, but I like it.They fit MOSTLY as expected. Maybe a smidge large, but not large enough to cause discomfort, bunching, or blisters.Just great socks, from what appears to be a great company that is very much invested in the OCR experience, which is something that I definitely appreciate.

Run small.
Nice socks but they run small. I wear a 9.5 or 10 in women's and 8 or 8.5 in men's, so based on the mudgear size chart, I ordered medium. They were too small. I would have liked to exchange them but wasn't given that option in the return process. In fact, I wasn't even given the option to return, only returnless refund. I would have been happy to return. I hope the seller isn't getting screwed in this process. I'll give them to someone. I went ahead and reordered a large because again, they are nice socks, but 4 stars for the sizing.
