the classical child at the opera
This is an excellent choice... I love that it is an English translation, and does not distort the beauty of the music in order to suit children. Beautiful to listen to and lots of fun. I bought this for my 5, 3, an 1 year old and just bought one for my 5 year old niece. I love it for myself to. I just order my own full length opera (the magic flute) because of this cd.

Great for kids
As the title of the CD implies, this is a great CD for kids who like to sing and especially if they have been subjected to some classical music. Our grandchild, only age 4, loves it and sings along the best that she can for being so young. The lyrics are in English, so that really helps.

Bought this for a song for my piano students
My piano students spend 20 minutes at the computer doing music theory games. I found this on Amazon for a song, less than the postage, and the kids have enjoyed it and a diversion from the harder stuff. Educational while serving to "cleanse the palate" for the next course of music theory!

Good selections, weak voices
For parents/grandparents who know opera and want to introduce their children/grandchildren to it this recording has a nice selection of works but the singers are not first rate. Anyone used to glorious classical voices is likely to be disappointed (anyone used to popular voices may or may not notice). Our 2-year-old granddaughter loves some of the selections but to my disappointment I find it unpleasant to listen to.

Not what I expected but good
I thought this would be kids singing opera but it's not. It's a collection of well-known opera songs. My daughter (5) loves it and tries to imitate them.
