While I've seen other drapes only *claimed* to be 100% blackout, these actually are. 100%. They are also gorgeous and very high quality. Heavy, made well, drape beautifully.Highly recommend.

I can’t get over how classy the SUNSMART Curtain Panels are. They are also elegant, but not in the sense of granny’s parlor. These panels are modern-looking and sleek, with a tad of sheen, and the soft waves in the design provide a sense of fluidity and fun to the panels.In addition, the heavyweight fabric looks like it costs at least double of what it actually costs. Best of all, they keep the light out and the room totally dark as well as form a perfect cushion to the noisy world outside.I found the soft-toned fabric easy to coordinate with our living room décor, and the grommet top enhances the fashion statement. These are the nicest blackout curtains I've had at this price point. I have an east-facing bedroom window in Arizona and I really need total sun blocking curtains. These do the job, and they're nice looking while they do it. I prefer natural fabric curtains, but any that block out 100% of light are impossible to find (at least in my price range). I wouldn't choose these curtains for my "normal" windows, but as far as light-blockers go they're about as attractive as it gets. I like the subtle sheen...it adds a nice textural element to the bedroom and makes them look a bit more modern, though I'm afraid it will date them quickly--time will tell. They're reasonably priced, though, so they can be replaced easily enough. What I really like about them is that they keep the room considerably cooler than the previous curtains I had in it; there is probably a 10 degree difference in the room in the mornings now over the previous curtains (maybe more in the heat of the day, but at that point the AC is already working enough that I can't really tell).I would definitely recommend these if you're looking for 100% light blockers that are also attractive. The quality is great, they're large enough (I have a 35" window so one covers it, but since there are 3 windows in a row I'm going to buy 2/window so that they cover very well), and they do the job.

With summer temperatures lasting much longer and being much hotter, one of the bedrooms in my home has had a temperature that is about ten degrees warmer than the rest of the house. I bought a different blackout curtain, but the light still came through the curtain panel, and the temperature in the room remained much hotter than the rest of the house. When I saw this panel available via the Vine Program, I decided to give it a try, and it actually works! The fabric is heavy, the backing is insulated, and when it is pulled close edge to edge, it completely blocks out the light (no light filtering through the panel itself). Additionally, the temperature in the room is now comparable to the rest of the house! No more having to have two fans going in the room all the time. I also appreciate the neutral color and design that worked great with the room's decor. This panel was a great solution to the summer heat coming into the room, and I'm hoping it will also help keep the cold out of the room in the winter.

Blocks light well and easy to hang. We used four panels to get the fullness and the design adds interest.
