Baptist Foundations: Church Government for an Anti-Institutional Age

Growing up in a baptist church, I didn’t know some of the trench work of baptists. This is a huge help in understanding most of the reasons we do things the way we do, and more, why we need to protect the things we do.

The book did arrive damaged from shipment and this is frustrating because it is otherwise really clean copy. the package was not damaged but the spine of the book on the bottom shows it had been dropped and was so impactful it removed about a nickel sized amount of the cloth covering, it had also been dropped and damage the top right corner. Books are never package well enough for the abuse they receive in shipment!

After reading a lot of material on church matters, this is the best resource I've found. I don't agree with every single conclusion in the book, but it is a fantastic treatment of ecclesiology!

This has been one of the most helpful, clear, and encouraging books that I have read in seminary. I could not recommend it much more highly.

I read this book for one of my classes and came away from reading the book loving the bride of Christ more. It is thorough explanations of what the church needs to be and how she should act. This should be read by every church leader!

I like the title as the church polity issue is so controversial. Also the book is written by Mark Dever, the author of Nine Marks series. His observations and understandings are worthwhile to think for the pastors of the church.

This book has a good amount of information regarding the history of Baptists. If you are interested in this subject you will find it very interesting, otherwise it comes across as a bit dry.

Great book on Baptist education! We used it in our seminary class, and was very informative! Would recommend to those seeking to learn about Baptists!
