Awful food for ANY feline! Do not use!
TERRIBLE FOODI wrote Wysong asking for a sample of this food before committing to a whole bag, but they never responded. I decided to just get the bag for my feline with a sensitive stomach. He loves the Wysong Epigen, but it doesn't agree with his belly. What a mistake! My other feline with NO stomach issues chomped this plastic smelling food (that should have been my first hint) and vomited the entire contents of his stomach. He never vomits, unlike his food sensitive brother who had more sense to stay away from this stuff. The volume he vomited (I didn't know he could fit that much food in his stomach) along with the oddly colored dark brown orange contents almost made me take him to the vet! Fortunately switching him back to his food solved the problem. It took 1/2 a bottle of Spot Shot and 3 steam cleanings to clean the carpet. This was not an issue of slowly titrating my cat's new food into their systems. This stuff smells terrible and made my healthy cat sick.Wysong wasn't helpful, they didn't even acknowledge my email. I lovED the company and used to use their Epigen. Now I'm on the fence. My cats love their freeze dried food, but I hate the idea of giving money to the company now.Bottom line, don't buy the this Wysong food under ANY circumstances!------------------------------------------------------------***Update**** 4/7/17------------------------------------------------------------*A very long time after posting this review, and without sending an email acknowledging my email request for samples of kitty food, Wysong did send me samples of their dry foods.

Solution for IBD
Thank goodness we found it. We have a ferret with IBD (irritable bowel disease - bowel inflammation, chronic diarrhea, stomach upset, weight loss) due to a chicken allergy. Except for this product, it's impossible to find a kibble that's made without chicken products of some kind AND without peas (ferrets can't process peas products, feeding them will causes its own medical issues). I had given up hope we'd find a solution. Not something you want to do when the vets tell you that if you don't get IBD under control, it WILL lead to an early death. We had managed to get her to a semi-reasonable state with meds and a kibble that had chicken meal way down on the list. But she still had loose/unformed stools.Within 48 hours of giving her the Anergen, she's having normal stools. The first in over 9 months. She's also sleeping better and is more active. If she continues to processes the food well, and I don't see why she wouldn't, we should be able to wean her off the meds she's on. Yay!While I think the following questions are totally irrelevant because A) the issue should be whether the food works or not and B) all animals are different...but I'll post them anyway:Does she like it? Yes. Do the other animals (other ferret/cats/dog) like it? Unfortunately...yes. All 7 animals in the house think it's yummy. I'll have to buy larger bags. Does it smell funny like others have claimed? Not at all. What size is the food? Small kibble

Loved the first bag, hated the second bag.
I'm not sure if it's the food or my dog! My dog dug the first bag of food! After searching high & low for a high quality, high protein, ethically sourced dog food that might prove effective in addressing her wicked skin issues, I was beyond thrilled! I ordered 4 more bags & don't know why, she's just not that into it at all now😭. I've got to do my magic or voodoo by adding either sardines, home made broth, eggs, raw steak then, she needs to see me bless it a time or two... you get my drift. Then she digs in. Nevertheless, at least I know she's still getting a quality food. I guess I'm giving it a 50/50. This family owned company has many quality feline/canine food items so I'll keep coming back for one thing or another.

My three cats won't eat it
Sounded like a good choice for cat food, I don't know if the bag I received is normal or had something wrong with it. It had a very strong odor but i'm not sure if that is unusual or normal for Wysong Anergen Canine/Feline Dry food.My three cats won't eat it. I've even tried mixing it into the old cat food i used but when the cats pick up one of these they spit it out. Even a half starved stray cat that i found in my back yard wouldn't eat it.... I placed a small disposable tray (from a Chinese take out) with half of the old type cat food and half this cat food. I watched that cat eat and it sniffed over this food and eat the old type cat food, after eating all the old type it ignored the Wysong cat food. After a few days I noticed the Wysong cat food disappearing out of the tray over night, I think it might have been an armadillo or an opossum.

Ants won't even eat it
I had high hopes for this food since my cat has allergies. I tried mixing it in with the very expensive royal canin ultimino and he ate a little at first. After a few days, he would walk up to the dish and recoil and walk away. He would no longer eat it at all.So then I decided I would use it for the feral cat that I feed outside my house because I didn't want it to go to waste. She had the same reaction. I didn't bother contacting Amazon because they don't give refunds for pet food. After I had left it outside, a peculiar thing happened. In general, if I leave food for the feral cat and she doesn't eat it, the birds will pick it off or the ants will have their heyday. In this case, the food sat untouched for days until I threw it out. Nothing would eat it, not bugs, not worms, not opossums, nada.To me, this is unfit for consumption for any living being. It had a terrible smell and I threw nearly the entire bag away.
