This comes in a Carrosel container not open spool!
If you want to use this on a different printer, you would need to bust it out of its neat little plastic box.It also did not print well, whereas Hatchbox comes out strong and sticks to the table at the same settings this was brittle and lifted from the table. Will not buy again

Good quality ABS
Update: 7/15/2015 - I was eventually able to get XYZPrinting to correct the problem with this cartridge. Basically the software does not recognize the cartidge serial number and refuses to print. It took over a month for them to perform the simple task of adding the serial number to a database..... Very poor on their part but eventually it was done! I was able to print with the cartridge. I have since ordered another and it worked too. I get very good print quality so am sticking with the XYZ brand. I am updating my rating to 5 since the product is good.Original Review:This cartridge does not work. The printer is able to read the included chip and correctly identifies the color, type and length. However, when you try to print, the software prevents you from printing with the unhelpful suggestion to buy an authorized cartridge.... Which this is!!!!I have wasted over a week with customer service to resolve this issue with no luck. It appears that there is a batch of cartridges that do not appear in the XYZ database. What I am guessing happens is that when the software prepares to print, it checks the chip ID with the database of authorized cartridges out in the cloud somewhere. If the ID is not present, then you can't print. Huge waste of time.

Nah
For this filament I don't think we should be paying more than $13 to $15, I've actually seen $15 filament do much better than this one and I paid 20 something dollars just because the printer is locked to XYZ filaments.

Works well!
Initially, the printer would not work with this chip - it said it was unable to identify and not a genuine xyz cartridge. I contacted xyz but the issue was the software needs be restarted and/or updated if you encounter this problem. Once I did that it worked just fine.

This is the reason XYZ's printers are cheap
The XYZ company is sort of like the HP inkjet printer. As you may already know XYZ printers have been specially designed to only accept XYZ filament. This is a major problem because there is no competition in XYZ's market. XYZ did this on purpose because they can sell their printers cheap and sell their filament to make money. No competition leads two several problems. First the XYZ filament prices are high. Second, unlike the HP inkjet printer cartridges, the filaments aren't the best quality and may cause bubbles in the filament and jams because little pieces of debris sometimes contaminate the filament and will definitely cause you great annoyance. But the only ways to avoid getting trapped in the cycle of purchasing XYZ's filament is to buy another 3D printer from a different company or create a chip that tricks XYZ's printers into thinking that you are using their special plastic while you actually use an other brand.

meh- go with the full cart
This refill has several times given me feedback that is not authorized, i unplug the printer and replug and then it works. The chip is in perfectly so I am not sure why it sometimes works. It is also usually cheaper to just by a new cart- even though that feels wasteful.

It was what he wanted
I order this for my grandson for Christmas. He seemed pleased. He has a 3 d printer and makes Minecraft parts with it. I am hoping this practice will end up with a transporter being built. They are very smart kids. I am sure they can do it.

Xyz is such a waste of money. YouTube how to bypass filament chip!
Hate having to pay triple the price for half the filament. Xyz and thier customer service are terrible. Rather unimpressed. For this price you think it would clog less.

What crap service. This ink won’t print because it needs a chip that isn’t in the box.
Already over priced. Now it has to be returned. We spent ages trying to find a spool that would work with our mini printer, accepted it would cost loads more, waited for it and now we are disgusted to find it doesn’t work. How dare they not send the right chip?

Good quality but chip failed
The filament was of good quality but the supplied chip failed after only a few times of use and couldn’t reprogram it. Had to return it to Amazon for a replacement but had the same problem with the chip!

Not great
Not great filament, cracks in spite of supposedly being calibrated for the printer. Not recommended, unless you're forced to buy their spool
